I'm going to look at veils this weekend and I have no clue what I want. I have a very simple a-line dress with a sweetheart neck and a pretty long train. The top has lace and beading but that's about it.
Are veils really just preference or do some go better with certain dresses?

I think some go better with certain dresses, but mostly it's preference. Since my dress has a lot of beading along the bust line, I got a fingertip veil with beading mostly towards the bottom of the veil, but no edging.

i'm exactly the opposite
To answer your question, yes, veils are completely dependent on preference
if the bodice of your dress is very intricate, then i wouldn't get a veil with a lot of lace/design on the trim. otherwise, go for whichever length you like.

I think a fingertip length would be good, maybe with rhinestone or satin edging. Very pretty dress btw!
