Can you wear a lace edged veil with a dress that has NO lace? I ordered the last picture, but I really love the look of lace veils. In the shop when I tried on a lace veil with the dress, we felt it took away from the middle of the dress.... but (insert whining voice), I love the look of lace veils.
Honestly, I think the lace veil will take away from your dress...You need something simple, like the one you ordered. The lace kinda clashes with the middle part of your dress..
I know that is not what you want to hear, but I need to be honest with one of my fellow FT brides

Re: Veil Question....
IMO the dress is beautiful no need to have a 'busy' veil. I love the plain one... The lace is nice but little too much, perhaps you can get a veil with just 1/2 inch of lace, not so thick..

Yeah.... that's what I thought. And why I ordered the 'plain drop veil'... (only $40 with shipping!!!! - the shop wanted 125 plus tax ).
I just looked up the pics of me and it's true that the middle would clash...
Can I whine for a little bit though?
maybe for my next wedding??

Re: Veil Question....
Oh Leese...how do you keep a drop veil on your head??? Hw do they flip it up after you walk down the aisle? I love it!!!
By the way, I do think that the lace veil would take away from your dress.

Interesting that you ask..... usually drop veils are held with a hat pin. But I had the woman attach a comb. Since there is no gathering (no poof), I may see a small line when it's over my head. But nothing too bad.
Once my dad lifts it over my head, it'll look like a regular veil - almost like a two layer, but no poof.
This is a surprise to my FH because I originally told him I wouldn't be wearing a blusher. But I know it means a lot to him and my dad for me to wear it...... so I'm being a good girl and wearing it.
But for the reception, I may take it off. Unless I feel like my arms are fat and I'll hide them in the veil!

Do you have a picture of how you will wear it? I may do this style or a traditional mantilla. Not sure though!

Re: Veil Question....
I agree that lace veils are very pretty, but with such a gorgeous dress why would you want anything that would take away from its beauty?
