Veil softness?
Hi,I ordered a veil from Barrons in TriCounty yesterday.
Their 50.00 price was definetly better than the 250.00 that I was quoted from Lillette's. The thing that I did notice quality wise was that the cheaper veil was not as soft and flowey as the more expensive veil.
Has anyone ever tried to soften their veil? Maybe try to wash it in woolite? Since it's not really made of a fabric I'm not sure if it will work...
Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks...

Re: Veil softness?
Now I'm second guessing myself that I should have gotten the more expensive veil... err why do I do this to myself?

Re: Veil softness?
did you ask both places what materials the veils are made out of? would not try to wash the other veil in woolite. not sure if it is meant for that... if there is a huge difference in softness, the Lillette's veil is probably a different or better material.

Re: Veil softness?
i ordered mine from veils.com. they use something called 'bridal illusion'. it was VERY soft and not stiff like ordinary tulle. they come in ivory, diamond white and white. AND, it was only $48!!!!! i LOVED it!

Re: Veil softness?
I just ordered my veil from Barrons yesterday too! I think the quality of the veil is fine. Good enough for $45 anyway!
To me it is not worth another $200 to have a softer veil. JMO!

Re: Veil softness?
Well, here's the latest update...I went to Lillette's today and when they asked if I wanted the veil I told them that it was a little too steep for me.
They looked downstairs and had the same veil that had a little tear in it. They will cut off where the tear is (I will lose about 1 inch) and will re-edge it. I bargained and got the veil and the alterations for 100.00
When you consider I had a 50.00 coupon from Lillette's anyway, if you take that money off of the veil then it's the same price as Barrons.
Yay! I feel like I got such a bargain today.
BTW, I didnt mean to offend anyone by saying the other veils seem stiffer.. they just seem different than the one I had on at the shop. I called them after I got out of Lillette's asking to cancel my order and she gave me back my 30 dollar deposit - I was so surprised. I didnt expect her to want to, but she was the one that suggested the return on the deposit before I even brang it up! I'm sure everyone who got their veil there is in great hands, but I couldnt pass up this other one.

Re: Veil softness?
Glad you found your veil! I am having mine made (it was $1100 in the store) ... the softness you may be referring to is 'silk tulle'

Re: Veil softness?
Call me crazy...but I actually like the regular tulle veils better...they hold their shape better because they are somewhat 'stiff'.Welcome New Vendors
