I'm in the process of scheduling appointments with these Photographers. I was wondering if anyone used and/or had any feedback on these photographers. (Additional suggestions would be great too!) We're hoping to stay somewhere under $3500 (without video) if possible!!
Also, if anyone could send me the quotes that they received, that would be GREAT. We're looking for a place that does digital photos and gives you all the high-resolutions digital images on a disc. And would like a basic album too!!
I met with Dominick at Twelfth Night and I LOVED him and their work. We are definitely considering them, but want to just get an idea of other photographers out there.
I booked w/ 12th night as well. I did meet with Patken. My FSIL used them. I really wasn't impressed. You would have to book before you met your photographer. Their prices were reasonable, but overall I felt they could do better.
Although he isnt on your list, you should consider Artistic Images. We used them for our wedding and we are very happy with our proofs. We have referred 3 people to him since our wedding and all3 have booked with him. He does digital photography. We worked with the ownere Artie. His website is Art-isticimages.com
On your list, I saw Patken and Artisan. Definitley check out Artisan. He gave a lot of quality product for the money. My friend used him at her wedding and he was so nice all day long. We had a lot of fun with them.
Patken takes really nice pictures. I did not like their sales approach and what I didn't like even more than that was we went there specifically to have 1 of 2 photographers our friends had used be our photographer. They would not guarantee that's who we would have.
If you want my specific quotes for both of them, FM me to remind me and I'll look tonight when I go home.
I am using Bob from Velvet Studio. He has such a great personality and his work is amazing. he gave me a great package price. I will FM you with the details.
We're using TimeXposures and I really liked his work. His rates are reasonable, and you can customize your package. We're not getting an album, but designed our package to have one photographer for a full day + lighting assistant, full set of proofs, 3 8x10s, 4 5x7s, and a DVD of our proofs for $1595. One of his packages which was very similar but included an album and thank you cards was $2795.
I also liked that he's been really flexible about working with us. He even met with us on a Sunday b/c we were coming from Westchester. I'm looking forward to using him for my wedding!
Loved both Duet and TimeXposures!!! Nice nice people- Jonathan from TimeXposures is the BEST!!! There isn't a nicer guy! Depends on which style you prefer though......but you can't go wrong with either. Depends on who you're most comfortable with!
I looked at 12th Night, Duet & Velvet and ultimately booked Velvet. You can see some of the pics (both wedding and e-pics) in my album.
Didn't choose 12th Night b/c DH wanted a package that included albums, which Dom didn't do. Didn't choose Duet b/c you can't meet actually photographer until the day of (there is no guarantee that e-pic photographer and day of photographer will be the same), and we were concerned a bit about the language barrier. Didn't even look at Patken b/c they told me over the phone you can't meet photographer until after you sign contract. This was all in 2005. Any or all of these policies may have changed.
I'm using Patken. FH and I went in told them what kind of pictures we wanted and the photographer we wanted to use VINNY!!! Love him. We got pics and video just under $6000.
We only checked out two of the photographers you listed, 12th night and Duet. Both are great and within your budget . . . I am a bit partial to 12th night though
i booked with Woo from Duet. my package was $5K but that's with a videographer and 2 photographers and alot of extras and upgrades.
I'm also booked w/ Duet and our price is about the same- we'll be having Jay's team!!
If you want someone who uses digital, then Velvet might be out for you- they only shoot in film (unless something has changed since I met with them in November). I did love their work though!
good luck with all of your appointments and just get a feel for who you like!
Patken takes really nice pictures. I did not like their sales approach and what I didn't like even more than that was we went there specifically to have 1 of 2 photographers our friends had used be our photographer. They would not guarantee that's who we would have.
That is interesting that that happened to you...when I booked with them they put the photographer that i requested on the contract with no hassle.
we turned off after 5 minutes from duet and patken. don't like their sales approach at all. velvet was ok, just were not comfortable with bob taking our pictures.
we booked 12th night. right angle would have been our second choice.
