Vendor Rant!

Ok so the great thing about this site is you get a ton of advice from various people and it helps is making decisions. I know that there are girls here whose experience its the opposite of mine,and I dont mean to offend but I have to share.

I went to Lillettes in Baldwin today and had the WORST experience. First off, I couldnt even tell you my sales lady's name, as she didnt introduce herself. She refused to lace up the corset backs for some unknown reason. If I didnt like a dress, she rolled her eyes and huffed as if I should like everything she pulled. I explained to her that I had tried on a bunch of dresses and havent found what I liked, and she laughed, looked at the dressing room and said 'oh i can tell'. Trust me it was rude. She NEVER fanned out the train and made my mother do it, and when i commented that a train was a little plain for my liking her responce was 'listen, you only see it for a short while anyway so dont look at the back' ARE YOU SERIOUS?!
It ended the worst when she was in the room and she 'I think you need to stop now' there was no one else there!!! I said okay, ill get dressed and look on my own to see if there is anything else and she cuts me off and says, 'Oh no, there is nothing else you will like. We hand pick our drsses and if your not seeing what you like, maybe you should ask yourself why.

I will NEVER step foot in this store again. To be fair, there was a different sales lady with another girl at the same time who seemed like a doll. Maybe I got the wrong lady, or maybe it was an off day, but ive been depressed that im dressless, and this made it worse.

I'm so sorry you had this experience Wedding dress shopping should be fun and this lady rained on your parade. It sounds like she's in the wrong business if this is her attitude! I'm sure the next place you go to will be better. I know how you feel - believe me I've had some consultants that just made me feel like poop and ruined the experience!!! Try not to take it personally - she's gonna be like that to every bride-to-be!

I am so sorry that you had a horrible experience. This should be fun. I dont blame you for not wanting to go back. There are many other stores you can go to. When you find your dress you should do like Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman and go back, tell her you got a dress and say big mistake, missed out on a huge commission!!

Sorry to hear that - I had a similar experience with centereach bridal suite. But I know many people who did well there. It all depends on your salesperson...

Thats the worst part, Ive heard really good things and really bad things.

She was basically telling me that if I didnt like what they had there, then I had a problem since they choose everything. She got mad when she went to put on a tiarra and I told her I was not going to be wearing one and I think she assumed I wasnt serious about needing a dress.

Not only was I mad at her, Im getting very nervous. Alot of you girls are getting married after me and are already done. This is the hugest part and im starting to think im hopeless

OMG, I cant believe she was so rude. I think it's hit or miss with bridal attendants. My sister had a great experience there. Regardless, keep shopping. You will find the perfect dress. And I think you still have a decent amount of time....so dont stress.

sorry you had to go thru that. had a very similar experience at the 2nd store, not this bad tho, so I know how you feel

That stinks...I love my sales lady from there (Pat) she knows me by my first name now and is always very helpful, she is my new best friend, I had my fitting last night and Francesca is my new new best friend who can sew!

Girl, thats suxs. Look, why not go to where I went; Bridal Reflections. Theres is a girl there named Christina I think in carle place. She is petite with dark hair and super super nice. She is very helpful and informative. She maybe able to help!

Oh Im sorry to here that you had such a bad experience there.....I saw Gerri there and I had the total opposite experience....If you do choose to go back I suggest you go to see Geri.... When I was thre the other sales lady made a girl feel just like she made you feel and I was soo happy I didnt get her but they are not all like that and you will find a dress and it will be the perfect one just keep a positive attitude and keep looking there are millions of places to look..... I'm also working with Geri and she's been amazing. Actually, she's kind of going above what I had expected for me. I'm ordering a gown through them that they don't even have a sample of in store. I found the gown elsewhere, but I didn't want to order it where I found it, so I'm ordering it through Lillette's. I'm sorry you had such a bad experience. It s*cks that your consultant can make or break the deal for you in a store, especially if others have had amazing experiences in that store. *If* you decide to give Lillette's another try, definitely ask for Geri.
