Ok they just called me and agreed to do a new box for me. This is what I like about good vendors, its ok if things arent right but make it right for the customer.
Thanks for listening girls.....
That's great!!!

That is ridiculous! They make you go through all of the trouble of filling out those forms, and they still didn't get the gist (sp?) of what you wanted?? I've heard stories about how accomodating they are, but this is nuts. I would definitely dispute the rush fee! So sorry you have to suck it up and settle for something that you aren't happy with!
I'm kind of losing my patience with them too. I ordered mine in December and still don't have it!
you wont get it until just a few weeks before your wedding or closer to your wedding. They dont start making them in order of who ordered first, they go by the month you are married, thats the order they do it
Exactly, they start making it as it gets closer to your date...i dont understand why someone needs it 6 months in advance? What are you going to do with it? Look at it, play with it? Its just going to take up space it comes in a huge box, i think its better off they send it closer to your wedding, one less thing to have to store

Tell them that you are going to LIWeddings.com and telling the other brides that they suck, which will then in turn ruin their business, which could happen because most of us have used Modern Bride, including myself. I haven't heard anything negative about them, up until now, but if I was to read this post as a newbie, I wouldn't order from them.

I hear ya.. but when you pay for something in full and it takes 6+ months for you to get it, it's normal to feel uneasy.

the box is pretty big that it comes in. I received mine in april and at first i just kept it in my room bc i was afraid of putting it somewhere where it was cramped and messing up the box. I ended up making space for it in a closet but it did take up alot of room. The box was definitely alot bigger than i thought it would be
But its true, if they make it by date ordered then they run the risk of not having boxes done on time. If they get tons of orders for weddings 6 months away and start making those but theres a bunch of ppl who have weddings coming up then it will probably cause problems getting them out. I know it s*cks bc were eager to get things when we order it

They respond to me right away via email. I don't have any patience though. I just got an email from them that I should have a picture of the card box today.

Re: Vendor Rant: Cardbox
they need a better system. they should complete orders as they come in and give a specified time for completion. some brides like to get things done and out of the way. i wouldnt want to stress at the last minute waiting for a card box to arrive.

i actually didnt want to get mine early, funny thing is that i got mine in april so did come in a bit early, or actually maybe even march. Like i said its a pretty big box and you'll want to keep the cardbox inside the box it came in bc you dont want it to get dirty or ruined. It takes up alot of space and at first i just left the box on the floor in my room bc i didnt know what else to do with it.
Personally i think it wouldnt be good if they did orders as they came in. For example i dont think they needed to start my box when i ordered in january when instead they should be working on somebody whose wedding is coming up soon. If they get a bunch of orders for weddings 6 months away or more and then get a few orders in after for a wedding only 2 months later lets say, then they'll be so busy making cardboxes for those whose wedding is far away and somebody whose wedding is closer they'll be crunched for time. It would be more of a mess bc not only would they have to make boxes as orders were coming in but then they'd also have to always check for upcoming weddings and then always stop in the process of one and start another one then back to the other ones so instead of following one method and one schedule they would have to follow several schedules and constantly check which orders came in first but also have to check which weddings are coming up first. If they get lets say 30 orders in one month then it will be a mess to get them done, and dont see how they would finish boxes in time for every wedding. And after receiving the box ill say that i was very glad i didnt receive it too far in advance, it would've sat on my bedroom floor for months and always in the way. I finally did make some room for it in a big closet but i also had to move alot of things and pile them elsewhere. It was right before the wedding so wasnt that bad
I think them putting orders in order of month of the wedding is a good system. They see which weddings are coming up within the next few short months and start with those, its easier to stay organized this way. Most people get it in enough time, they did move from one state to another a few months ago and only then were there a few instances of people receiving it RIGHT before the wedding but still received it.

we just disagree on this one. its the same b-s some dress shops do. you place your order today even though your wedding is 8 months away, the dress shop knows it takes 5 months for the dress to come in, so they order it a month or 2 after you place your order. that is so annoying. and they dont tell you what they are doing.
does modern bride at least tell you that you wont receive the box until close to your wedding date?

Yes. They changed the policy in dec or jan that they orders will be filled 1-2 months before the wedding instead of when they receive the order

Re: Vendor Rant: Cardbox
I know she does not start working on the boxes until your wedding is closer.....be patient ladies, it's not like you need your cardboxes months in advance (even though you want everything in order and just done, believe me, I get that!!!)
Think of how many of you just on this site ordered from her. I don't think she has this huge operation, I think it's her & maybe 2 other people so yes even though you order them months in advance she has many many brides before that.
BUT with that said if you are not happy, she's very accommodating with changing what you want, which I can see she did with you.

i was told around when i will receive my box, so thats why i didnt expect it...its also been posted on here many times when brides received theirs so even before i contacted them i knew around when i would receive it. So there is no surprise that you will only receive it not long before. INFACT i think this info is on their site and tells you when to expect your cardbox
I dont know, the dress thing doesnt bother me either. Id rather it come in about 2 months before the wedding or so. And actually when i ordered my dress i was told EXACTLY when it would come in and it seriously came in almost exactly to the date...When i purchased my dress i was told it would arrive march 17, 2008 and it came in either that exact day or just 2-3 days difference. If it would've come in earlier then i dont know what i wouldve even done, maybe go look at it but just leave it at the store. I wouldnt have taken it home, and it wouldve just sat in the store if it came in alot earlier, and i rather not have my dress sitting in a store for too long or taking it home and keeping it at home for too long. Im sure dress stores do it bc otherwise they would always have tons of dresses just sitting in the store if everyone got it in early and im sure as customers we dont want our dresses just sitting there forever.
But i was never promised the dress earlier, i was given a date and it came in on time so i didnt wait around for my dress. If a bridal store gives an earlier date and its 2 months late or so then thats different and thats wrong
