In my effort to shop for a makeup artist I came across a LIW makeup artist who I found to be extremely unfair.
I contacted her in early November stating that I would like to have a trial. She responded to me that she was booked and had a 'very large bridal party'.
About a week ago I see my date twin has a trial set up with her for this week (Posted)! So I emailed this makeup artist telling her that what she did was not right, that she should have let me known since I have contacted her first.
She tells me that the bride is very excited and cannot cancel on her. The date is now booked and I feel extremely slighted. I have researched her and saw many faces on here that I loved and expressed the UTMOST interest upon contacting her in early November for her services.
A bit of bad luck?? possible. A bit of scattered brains on her part? most likely.
I just really feel slighted by this woman, who cannot even spell my name right when responding in email. very very scattered brains.
Maybe I am lucky to have learned about her this way, rather than booking her and having her 'scattered-brains' ways impacting the big day.

So sorry to hear about that. I had a bad experience where I called about a year and a few months in advance to a make-up person, was told it was too early. Called back one month later, she was booked for my day. I was NOT a happy camper over all that.
I'm very curious who you were dealing with--can you FM me?

That is so wrong. Just be happy that you are not dealing with her anymore. She seems shady.

Sorry that you are feeling bad. She did you dirty, but at the same time it would have been even worse for her to cancel the appointment that she made with your date twin. You will find someone even better.

i know i was thinking the same thing. she probably forgot that you contacted her back in november--im sure she didnt do it on purpose. these vendors are probably inundated w/emails everyday requesting services, so its totally human for them to forget when people contacted them and for what date. did she give you an explanation as to why she didnt contact you about the open date? but it sucks to not get your first choice vendor, im sorry things turned out this way for you.

I would have asked for an expanation too. The only thing I can think of is maybe another date twin contacted her even before you did and was kind of 'next in line'. Good luck in your search, and Im sure you'll find someone better!!
