Vendor rating for Burton's Florist
I wrote a review for Burton's Florist a few days ago but it hasn't shown up un the 'Rate your Vendor' section. I guess because it wasn't a very good review. I think everyone should know the type of service we received especially because they received good ratings from other people. Everyone Beware
L.I. Weddings Please look into it.

Re: Vendor rating for Burton's Florist
Every time we went into the shop they had a beautiful bouquet there to see. We ordered for the BM's hand tied yellow roses with a few white calla lillies. I specified about 2 and a half dozen roses. We got 11 small yellow rosebuds with 3 calla lillies stuck in the middle. It was tied with wired ribbon that was all wrinkled! My bouquet was hand tied white roses, but we got little tiny rose buds too. The church flowers were gladiolas and carnations and other junky flowers that looked like funeral arrangements. The centerpieces were supposed to be very full, mostly pink and yellow roses with a few calla lillies with very little filler stuff. We got almost all filler and a few flowers. Unfortunately we didn't get to see anything till the morning of the wedding and it was too late to do anything about it. We did get a good price but now I'm sorry we didn't go with the more expensive places.

Re: Vendor rating for Burton's Florist
Does Burton's give a sample before the wedding day? Do any florists give you a sample of the arrangements before the wedding date?Chelseadog-Did you have a picture of what you wanted? It doesn't seem right that you got what you didn't want in everything. I know that Burtons has a whatever flower you want on their contract, but do they confirm in writing, what the final piece will look like after you go back in to decide what you want for your arrangements? If they don't they should. It seems that the negative reviews on Burtons were in reference to the same thing as Chelseadogs. You should go back to them and let them know how unhappy you were with their service.

When you saw sample bouquets, did they look like what you wanted?

cw904 - I saw a sample of my centerpiece before my wedding. We used Flower Michele and were thrilled with the results. We almost went with Burtons, but preferred the service and enthusiasm we got from John at Flower Michele.

Re: Vendor rating for Burton's Florist
The bouquets we saw were exactly what we wanted. They were beautiful a whole bunch of nice big roses. What we got was 11 small rose buds. They made up a centerpiece a few weeks before but they didn't have the flowers we wanted so they said they would be 'something like this'. We told them at that time we wanted many more roses. They assured us they would be very full. They weren't. We wanted to bring the church pieces to the reception but they were so bad we didn't. They also tied the bouquets with wired ribbon that was all wrinkled when they arrived. If it wasn't my wedding day it might have been funny they were sooooo pathetic.

Re: Vendor rating for Burton's Florist
No, don't be worried. Chelseadog was very kind to share her experience-now use this as advice! Make sure they know exactly what you expect of them, let them know how important your flowers are to you, make sure they know that anything that does not meet your wishes will be unacceptable. Also, ask who will be available on your wedding day if there are any problems.Chelseadog, I'm sure it wasn't easy to share a bad experience, but I'm glad you did. We all need to be prepared for problems. I know two couples who have used Burtons and have been very happy with the service and flowers-so sorry that you were not one of them. Good to hear that despite a couple of glitches, your day was a beautiful one. Best wishes to you and the Mr. for a marriage abundant in blessings!!
