I had been planning to do full bottles of wine (the first Shiraz we ever drank together when we were first dating) as wedding favors, but after meeting Jeanne at Afresh Approach today, I'm pretty sure I'll be going with 175ml bottles of wine with truffles instead. My mom and I must have tried 10 different truffle flavors (there were 40 choices in total) and at least 9 out of 10 were seriously delectable. The Cookie Dough and Bay Caramel truffles were my top 2 and the Port truffle was really good as well--subtle but really rich--I think it would pair perfectly with a slightly spicy shiraz or maybe even a malbec.
What made an even bigger impression on me was the enthusiasm Jeanne has for what she does. This lady is passionate about her chocolate and seems to get true joy out of sharing it! She spent over an hour talking with us about my wedding and all the various options and really made us feel pampered. In addition to the truffles, she let us sample chocolate covered madeleines and chocolate covered pretzels and even sent me home with my top 5 truffle picks so that FH can try them before we sign a contract. It was a really fun experience and my favorite 'check' so far!

2015er crashing!! Can you send me the quote too.. I make my own wine but if it's cheaper to just buy the wine in the smaller bottles, I might just do that to avoid the headache now lol
Making your own wine favors, for me, would be the ultimate DIY, but yeah a ton of work!
Jeanne doesn't actually sell the wine. You get to pick your wine from a neighboring liquor store. Then, they bring the wine to Afresh Approach and Jeanne attaches the bagged truffles to the wine bottles with wired ribbon and brings everything to your venue.
The name of the place was Vanderbilt Fine Wine & Spirits in Commack. My mom and I stopped over there after we left our meeting with Jeanne. It was a few miles away, not too far at all. We met with Todd at Vanderbilt and spent another hour talking with him about wine (and bourbon--NWR lol) and I was able to browse his mini wine and champagne stock. Most of the 175ml bottles he had cost about $1.99 each. Jeanne gets a discount there, I think it was 10 or 20%. Now, I am a picky PITA when it comes to alcohol. So, I wasn't going for the Sutter Home or Barefoot bottles. They had a Chilean merlot for $1.99, but I don't like merlot. I really wanted a shiraz or even a pinot noir or cab blend. So, Todd is going to research what else is available in the 175ml or 375ml size and get back to me. HTH!
