So far throughout this planning process, I have had some vendors just not return my call or e-mails, OR they say they will get back to me by a certain time and don't. I am frustrated because I know they do good work, all the brides have nothing but good things to say, but honestly....it annoys me when they don't get back to me...then sometimes I feel like I'm chasing them...isn't there something wrong with this picture??? I have had this happen with a florist, hair perosn and make up....thanks for letting me vent. Anyone else have the same problem.

Yes, I e-mailed my hair person almost a week ago and no response and I am already booked with her. It is very annoying but I guess there is nothing I can do unless I want to look for someone else.

I hear ya. So far all of my vendors have been pretty good with calling back. But if they weren't, I'd be concerned too!

(crashing) Are you contacting them Thur-Sun? If you are then chances are they are busy working weddings and will get back to you when they are in the office or have the time...as a business owner myself i cut my vendors some slack if they didn't get back to me right away becasue i know sometimes people just get busy....and sometimes e-mails wouldn't get thru...not the vendors faults..so if i didn't hear back in a few days i sent a follow up.....hang in there....

I mostly have not had that experience with my main vendors. But then I had MAJOR PROBLEMS booking hair b/c it's like nobody in the hair industry responds to e-mail OR phone calls!!! I don't care if you're booked on my date - you need to call or write back and TELL ME!
Then I found Denise Venti and we honestly exchange like 10 emails last night and she woudl always write back in 2 seconds! LOVE IT!

I had a huge problem with one of the hair/make up vendors. She said she'd call me back and never did and then she booked my date, even though when I first called she told me my date wasn't booked.

I always like for people to get back to me asap when I leave a VM or email. But vendors are diff, I know vendors are soo busy at times that they are not by a computer or a phone 24/7 and they cant get back to me asap, which is fine. I will give it a couple of days but if they dont return your calls or emails in over 2 weeks , than thats a prob.

Keep an eye on that. If they really want your business, and they are professional, they should get back to you asap! If you're starting to feel uncomfortable about the situation I would go with another vendor.

Once a vendor did that to me, I never contacted her back. I shouldn't have to force someone to take my business especially when there are other vendors out there. i will definitely be concerned if a vendor did that and i still book with them.

A vendor doesn't need to call me back that same day or even the next day, but after several days, and then weeks pass, it's just unacceptable. I understand that many have weddings on the weekends, and I don't expect them to call me at that time. But, business is not an excuse to go multiple days without calling back. And any vendor who thinks so is not someone who I'm willing to book with - especially in a date-sensitive business like this.
