Vendors - stop sending me emails i didn't request. . .

Mainly .. . 1-866-BRIDEOO/Linda's Lovelies

Remember when we had a post about what everyone is getting for their money envelopes? Well, Jennbaby posted a pic of a cake card holder, and I mentioned that I loved it.
Well, guess who sent me an email telling me that they have it? 1-866-BRIDEOO/Linda's Lovelies

Once again, someone posted a pic of placecards that was a cute linen chair, and I said I loved those, and she told me where she saw them, low and behold, I got yet another email from 1-866-BRIDEOO/Linda's Lovelies telling me she has them at a discount.

I DID NOT ask for Vendors to send me emails on these items, that was just chit-chat between us Brides !!!! So am I to believe that this vendor is scanning our board and our threads searching for sales opportunities???? I DO NOT appreciate this.

At first I wasn't going to say anything, but then realized I was really p-d off

IF WE DON'T ASK, DON'T SOLICIT !!!!!!!!!!

LIWEDDINGS: I have saved these emails in case you want proof !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

To refresh our memories, the name of one of the posts was 'Good Site' where ddunne listed some good sites for placecards for us, this was the pic in question:

Re: Vendors - stop sending me emails i didn't request. . .

This is the 2nd one I received an email about:
The post was called 'whats everyone putting out for cards etc.'
If you look at them, you will see I did not ask for vendor assistance, I was just replying and saying how pretty I thought they were and I would look at websites.

Re: Vendors - stop sending me emails i didn't request. . .

As you can see, I am obsessing about these emails. Does anyone else get them from vendors on this site even though you didn't ask?

I just got an email from 1-866-BRIDEOO/Linda's Lovelies, and I must say, she wrote me a very nice apology. I am not so angry anymore.

Re: Vendors - stop sending me emails i didn't request. . .

liz, jennbaby, et al...I understand that a flood of emails from vendors can be annoying, but please, please try to remember that these boards have a dual purpose - for brides to research and gather information, and for vendors to solicit. That is why they pay a fee to be part of the community.

That said, I hope that you can also remember that every vendor is a PERSON before they are a VENDOR, and you should try to be kind when you are complaining.

Liz - I know you replied saying that Linda sent you a nice apology, and the fact of the matter is, she IS a NICE person. I have met Linda during my planning, and visited her home. She is a very warm, helpful and compassionate person, and I am sure that she did not mean any HARM, only HELP, since you had expressed admiration of a few items that she carries.

I just wish that everyone would try to maintain a sense of community on these boards, rather that trying to tear the vendors apart whenever they try to make a living. It's so counter-productive

Re: Vendors - stop sending me emails i didn't request. . .

Claude, I totally agree with you. I don't get the violent reactions to vendor emails - I have actually been extremely helped by two vendors who were looking through the boards and responded to one of my inquiries, and I was so glad they did! People are just trying to make a living - live and let live, a few unsolicited emails are not going to kill you! This is supposed to be fun!!!

Re: Vendors - stop sending me emails i didn't request. . .

I 100% agree with jpsgirl.Hey what the heck isnt what this board is all about for vendors to advertise and try to get our bizz. And for us girls to be able to talk to one in other.I just delete the ones i dont want to read or i already have the vendor booked.I agree they are people too trying to make a living.I dont feel its that much of a hassle at all just to delete it,there are more things in my life i can complain about.

Re: Vendors - stop sending me emails i didn't request. . .

Claud2001 and jpsgirl, I have a right to complain if I am annoyed. If I feel annoyed, I will voice my opinion whenever I feel like it. It is not up to you to tell me when I should and should not express my opinion.

I did write that she wrote me a nice apology which I appreciated, but I don't know her or any vendor personally, and what I was saying is if I wanted help, I would ask for it from vendors on their board, which I have done before.

Now that she wrote an apology, she explained to me the way she does things, and I understand a little better, however, I still have the right to complain about anything or anybody annoying, as the two of you are annoying me right now for jumping down my throat.

And yes, I have a lot of fun on these boards and always appreciate whenever I am helped, but sheesh, I don't tell you all how to feel about a situation, leave me my right, for goodness sake.

Re: Vendors - stop sending me emails i didn't request. . .

We all definitely do come here to vent, to get ideas, support, to ask questions and get help with our wedding planning. I think it is indeed a bride's right to how she feels whether or not you agree or disagree with her, we do all have a right to that.

Liz, Jenbaby and anyone else, vent on...this is the area and the place to do it.

Happy planning all

Re: Vendors - stop sending me emails i didn't request. . .

Liz, I am quite shocked that you are so agressive regarding my earlier post!

In NO way did I say that you should not have a right to express your feelings, BUT I was trying to point out that a lot of brides here give vendors an undeserved bad rap by naming names and making it seem like a vendor did something unforgivable.
This was clearly not the case with Linda.

And, as someone who has met Linda personally, I just wanted to underscore that she IS nice, as you alluded to when you mentioned her apology note.
That is all.

The moral of my message is - can't we all just get along?? Brides and Vendors should all be welcomed here, since that is the ultimate purpose of the board.

I was not jumping down your throat. I am not that type of person, and have never posted anything mean-spirited on these boards (unlike some people!)
