Re: Venetian Yacht Club brides

When is your wedding? March 23, 2013
Which room? CH is regency and reception is state
Who is your Banquet Manager? Samantha
What colors are you using for dresses/flowers? not sure yet but probably navy blue with accents of light pink and white
Are you having your ceremony there? nope
If so, are you taking all your pictures there? If we luck at with a nice day then at the park but other they will all be take then.
We have not gone for a tasting but FH has D.J there and had some of the food, so I know it's good.

Re: Venetian Yacht Club brides

Awesome! I was trying to think of places to take pictures because I am also getting married in March. Another bride took her pics at the train station.

Navy blue will look really nice with the colors in there.
I am going to have dark purple and light purple.

Any other VYC brides out there?

Hello. Our wedding is April 07, 2012.
Welcome area in the Hemingway Suite
Ceremony on the patio or Hemingway Suite
Cocktail hour in the Regency Suite
Reception in the State Suite
Banquet Manager is Eric...I love him.
Dress colors = Eggplant
flowers = purples,greens,and ivorys.
Taking pics there and our tasting is this Friday. Can't wait!!

What about everyone else? Details??

Re: Venetian Yacht Club brides

I'm also having eggplant dresses but it's a tad lighter. I'm going to have two girls wear lighter purple. I will attach pics.
I'm using Argyle Florist in Babylon. The centerpieces are cylinders filled with water (3 sizes) and the largest one will have a Calla Lily, the middle an Orchid and the smallest will have sea grass. Each one with a floating candle on top.
I still can't decide on my bouquet. I love picasso lilies but I'm trying to make them work.
We're having the 30 minute greet in the hemmingway also and the ceremony upstairs. Then downstairs for cocktail hour and back upstairs for reception.
I was thinking of doing April 7th... that's funny! We decided to go with the weekend before because I'm off from school the next week.
Have you decided on your honeymoon? We're going to St. Lucia.

Re: Venetian Yacht Club brides

OMG. We are going to St. Lucia too! lol That's is so funny!! And March 31st is my fiance's bday!! I am kind of glad you didn't pick April 7th. LOL I'm the only bride that day. They did book a sweet 16 which is happening after we go upstairs into our reception but I won't see them so I'm ok with it. At least it's better than bumping into another bride. That was important to me. Are you worried about the weather at all? I really want the ceremony outside but if it's bad weather, we are having it inside. And those are pretty flowers. I've never seen the before. My main flower is a lisianthus. It's a purple flower with green buds that don't open. And we are doing a mixture of low floral centerpieces and crystal candelabras. Fun stuff!
Royalgem21 Posted:

Re: Venetian Yacht Club brides

The Lisianthus is very nice
The weather in March tricky. We just decided to do the ceremony inside but Eric said we could have it outside and decide that day. I personally am not the outdoors type when all dressed up. The wind makes my eyes tear
Although, it would be nice to have it outside on the water. We shall see!
The trees are usually bare that time of year so going to a park for pictures would not be worth it. We are going to take most of our pictures at the Venetian beforehand so we don't miss too much time later on. I thought of going to a second location for pictures after the wedding is over but we are trying to think of places.
I don't know if I am the only bride but our event is from 12-5 so most likely there won't be another. He mentioned maybe a shower or something. I've read most of the reviews out there and I haven't heard any complaints about hearing the party downstairs.
Crystal candelabras must have been expensive! Sounds beautiful though.
Let me know which entrees are good at the tasting. We need to book ours but right now I'm on a serious diet

Re: Venetian Yacht Club brides

When is your wedding? Which room?
7/1/12. Champagne Welcome in Hemingway, Ceremony outside (we hope!), Cocktail 90 min 'hour' in Regency, Dinner/Dancing in State upstairs.

Who is your Banquet Manager?
Eric. So far, so good.

What colors are you using for dresses/flowers?
Fuschia/Watermelon for BM's, flowers in brights.

Are you having your ceremony there?
yes
If so, are you taking all your pictures there?
No, planning to go to Argyle Park beforehand, if the weather is good. If it rains, all pics will be at VYC.

Has anyone gone for a tasting? Which entrees are the best?
Yes, and it was fab! The hors d'oeuvres were fab. We had a sample of the filet mignon (FH said it was amazing, cut without a knife like buttah), the Apricot Glazed Salmon (I never ever eat this, but ate half. So good!), and a Chicken dish but I forget the name. I have never heard a bad thing about their food, from anyone.

Awesome! I'm using their florist Argyle Flower Shoppe in Babylon. They are very reasonably priced.

Where are you going on your honeymoon or thinking of going?

Re: Venetian Yacht Club brides

Thanks!
I don't think the duck is on the menu anymore unless it's an upgrade. I'm trying to decide which dishes to offer. All the chicken ones look great. I need to go to the tasting I'm just holding off because I have to fit into my friends bridesmaid dress soon.
Glad to hear the salmon is good (I don't eat fish so I wouldn't know what was 'good' or 'bad' but I wanted to pick a good choice for the fish lovers)

Honey Moon will be the death of me. lol We have been going back and forth between Jamaica and St Lucia, but leaning more towards St Lucia now. You?

Re: Venetian Yacht Club brides

LOL

I changed my honeymoon 4 times!
(literally)

Florida & Bahamas
Turks & Caicos
Riviera Maya, Mexico
and FINALLY St. Lucia!

We're staying in a private villa overlooking Marigot Bay. It has a private pool and a small kitchen
http://www.oasismarigot.com/caribbean-blue.html

The Sandals resorts were way to expensive and some of them did not get great reviews
I didn't want to book such a $$ trip not knowing how the service would be, etc.. Plus, we could not afford the oceanview there.

Turks & Caicos is so beautiful but terribly expensive. Again, we couldn't afford the oceanview so I started looking into other things.

I'm super excited about St. Lucia!

Oh, if I went through how many HM changes I have been through, we could be here all day!!

I am looking at Sandals bc we need All Inclusive. I dont want to cook one single thing, wash one single dish, or have to worry about anything. I know it's completely inflated, price-wise, but it's a once in a life time trip. We wont ever spend this much again on a 9 day trip! Your resort looks so nice and peaceful, too
