Re: Venetian Yacht Club brides

Has anyone looked into the cakes the Venetian offers from Rolling Pin? I'm not sure about the website, it seems they have more designs in images on their main page but they are not listed in the cake section. I am curious to know how much the 'upgrades' are. I emailed them but haven't heard anything back.

I'm not super excited about having to pick out and purchase/drop off my own ribbon for the cakes but I can't seem to find a cake that I like without ribbon.

Any ideas?

I'm not to happy about that, but they have a good reputation and that's the only place my aunt gets her cakes from.

I don't like that you do everything online, I want to meet David face to face and talk about my cake. I did like one cake on there site but designs are to big I want to tone it down a bit. I went online and found similar and what I want. I'm gonna request face to face meeting with him.

He does take a few days to get back to you.

IMHO, I was not happy about the Rolling Pin Bakery. I went to pick up my samples, and they tasted 'ok', however; his prices to create a cake that was not one of the pictures that he offered were ridiculous. Anything that is not pictured in his book of cakes to choose from is considered an upgrade. I had purchased the appliques to put on my cake, and all I wanted for him to do was put them on the cake. The price he quoted was through the roof. While his cakes taste 'ok', his willingness to create a cake that is not a stock cake is not there. I went to Audrey's Bakery. Nancy was so willing to do whatever it takes to create the cake you want, and her samples tasted GREAT (not just ok).

Hello. So I had our tasting last night. Everything was delicious!! There wasn't one thing I didn't love! The salmon was out of this world. The chicken was juicy and the the filet mignon was perfect. The appetizers were awesome too. My fav was the raspberry and brie pastry! Yum! And I have to say..the place looks amazing when it's set up for a wedding! Seriously, the place looked absolutely stunning! I can't wait till our wedding day and you guys will not be disappointed!!

Re: Venetian Yacht Club brides

Hi brides!

When is your wedding? Which room?
July 14th Downstairs room

Who is your Banquet Manager?
was Samantha now Giulio

What colors are you using for dresses/flowers? purple and orange(more coral i guess) i am alittle worried people keep saying --oh halloween colors?! yikes!

Purple seems pretty popular with some other brides--which is nice so i can get ideas. i loved the purple flowers posted!

Are you having your ceremony there? no

Has anyone gone for a tasting? Which entrees are the best?

Not yet, but i am excited!

I was so unhappy with their cake samplings as well. We ended up just getting a cake from somewhere else and it was worth every penny.

Which flavors did you try?

Some people say their cakes are good. I'm not sure what to think

I was thinking of having the vanilla cake with cannoli cream and chocolate chips.

Re: Venetian Yacht Club brides

Just to let you know, I was wrong about Venetian Shores. I had this idea in my head that it was crummy but I believe it was upgraded in the last few years. It is a BEAUTIFUL view of BOTH bridges! It's really nice. The bride is the same though as at the Venetian, not sure if you want the same background.

I actually am thinking of taking pics at Argyle Park....I love the bridges and it's nice and close to the Venetian...I hope there aren't a lot of other brides there, but I'm getting married next month on a Friday so I'm thinking it'll be ok (hopefully!) I wanted to take pics in Northport Harbor but it's too much to go there after the church.

So Samantha is leaving =( I love her! Eric is my BM now...I'm meeting him this week. He seems really nice though

What happened with Samantha? I only met her once. Eric is my BM, he is very seasoned in this field and has several years of experience.

What are you doing for cake? I don't remember if you answered that already, sorry

I did not know this, I just saw her a week and half ago and she did not say anything. I am very upset now, I can not imagine working without her. Although I am sure whoever they give us will be great.

No prob! I'm actually picking it on Thursday...I'm just going with whatever comes in the package, with vanilla and cannolli filling. Some fall-themed cake I'm not too interested in the cake since I am not a dessert person...FH is getting whatever he wants!

Oh and whoops! Samantha got another job but everyone has good things to say about Eric, so I'm not too worried! Samantha really was awesome though, I'm bummed she won't be there

Eric has been my BM from the beginning and is very good. He answers calls and emails same day usually and is very well versed in VYC's offerings. You dont have anything to worry about!
