I'm just so pissed off and I know you all would understand my venting!!!!!!!!

We originally invited 170 people to the wedding and had to guarantee 100 people for our wedding.

Our RSVP date is tomorrow and we're only at 70 people. More than that has said NO. My Dad's entire side of the family isn't coming. My Mom's side of the family is split down the middle - and yet all of them travelled 2 years ago my wedding weekend for my cousins wedding. This is absolute BULLSHI*T!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Even with the handful of late RSVPs I'm still waiting on wouldn't be enough.

I just called my mother crying about this! We've resorted to inviting my entire administrative office to the wedding, all the dean's and support staff.

I don't want kid's at the wedding, and now we may just have to say to those coming to bring their kids!!!

Is this some sort of joke, cruelty that people want to put a bride through??? This is my only bridezillaish moment - everything else is going well!!!!!!

I am sorry you have to go through this. It is such a pain...trust me, I know. I invited almost 280 people and we weren't even close to making our minimum. We then invited more which brings to our count to about 300 and we are no where close. We were able to get our minimum brought down. Maybe that is something you can do once you try inviting some people you decided not to. Good luck.

weddings are such an honor to attend, I dont get how people dont see that sometimes.

It's times like this you have to believe what goes around, comes around! I hope no one goes to their parties, weddings, reunions, birthdays, etc... for the next 25 years!!! They deserve very lonely celebrations for having put you through all of this!

I am guilty of not sending the RSVP back yet (it was supposed to go to you in the mail today but SOMEONE forgot to grab it this morning) so it's not going out till tomorrow, and I apologize for that.

We were delayed in sending ours back because we have so many things happening between September & the end of the year that I wasn't sure until the date got closer whether or not we would be able to make it.

It truly bites when a lot of people have to say no. We invited 136 people and on the day of we had about 63 people total including us!! (we guaranteed 75)

Maybe talk to your hall and ask if the minimum can be lowered or if they can throw in something for free.

Thanks Darlene and Janna! The problem is those that are left on the list, even if they all RSVP yes, I still won't reach my minimum. That's what su*cks about all of this!!!

It is amazing isn't it??? I mean you think back to all the wedding you went to for them, the family parties, birthday gifts, baby gifts...... it made me angr y as well.. I took it personally!!! we invited 200 and only 145 are coming.... I did end up inviting 6 people that I didn't to begin with.....

Invite your office... they spend most of the day with you anyway!!!! and maybe there are people you would have invited originally that you didn't because you didn't think you could!!! sit down and compile a list...

I can see how you feel this way believe me.....

Exactly. I've gone out of my way, even when I had no job, to attend my cousin's weddings, their family reunions all around NY, CT and MA, and not one of them is coming to my wedding!!!

I even e-mailed my entire family from OOT at the end of July with the Jet Blue fares that were on sale during my wedding weekend to fly to JFK for $59 one way! Still no one is coming!

Makes me think of not even bothering with them anymore!!

I'm sorry Betsy, I know how frustrating it is. We invited just about 240 people & ended up w/ about 132 (20 under our minimum)...just know no matter what you're going to have a fabulous day. We're looking forward to it!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks Tammy! A few people I've spoken with at work today have said they are coming and handed me their RSVPs, so that's going okay, but that's still just a handful of people.

Ah, I can't believe we're getting married in 30 days!
