Vent about my Invites!!!! and they went out =(

I'm not really angry, just taking everything as lightly as I can b/c i'm sure things are going to go wrong BUT....i'm annoyed.

We ordered invites and I was in love with them. We sent them out and my mom calls me when she gets hers and goes...You know you can't even write on the response card?? So i'm like WHAT?!?! and apparently, since the material of the cards is like a metallic shiny-type ((Not describing accurately but you get the drift)) it's impossible to write on them with most pens.

Now, i'm getting them back with people writing in big green markers and you can see the lines where they attempted to write on them with all sorts of different pens. One person put tape over it and wrote on that. Another person stuck a return address label on it.....

I know it's not like THAT big of a deal but we paid almost a thousand dollars for these invites and this is kind of embarassing. Do you think I should even bother complaining?? I mean, they already went out. Ugh this is annoying LOL I feel like this would only happen to me!

Oh im sorry to hear that. I never even thought of that with the metallic paper. I almost ordered that too. I wouldnt worry about it too much, people will figure it out. But, i might tell the company just to save future brides the headache. Everything will be fine, dont worry!!

i got an invitation like that once...and i had to put a post it note on it with my name. I mean, the company should know that! I think you should say something to them...even though they are already mailed out.

Hmmm... that's a tough one. Don't stress it... What's done is done. However, I would call the company & complain- maybe they will give you some sort of a credit for programs, placecards, etc???

Nah- don't be embarrassed. I'm sure people know you didn't try to write on them first..lol

They have all figured out a way to let you know who they are- so just let it go..

I'm sorry, I can def understand your frustration, but dont let it ruin what you decided was beautiful enough to buy..i dont think you are being silly at all, you could always call where you got them from just to let them know if it will maybe make you feel better, it might make me feel better, just so they are aware

I would def make a complaint. I would let them know this especially so it can prevent it happening to other brides out there. I wouldnt stress about it too much. As long as they are finding a way to write on them and get them back to you. Maybe they can compensate you some how??

aww- so they will grab a sharpie. I see why you'd be pisssed. The print co. should have known.

Mine were writeable and they still all wrote in weird pens, crayon, sharpies, whatever they had

hey. that is annoying. I'd be pissed to. You can call and complain if you want to. That's something they should have mentioned when purchasing the invites.

You can't do anything about it. It is what it is. I'm sure the invites are beautiful! Don't get yourself all worked up if possible. ')

aww the print company most likely was aware- i would complain just to bring it to their attention it isn't your fault so don't stess but I can see why you are annoyed- I would be also

Thanks ladies!!! I know it's not a major issue but I figured i'd vent it out just so at least someone here who may not have ordered would see it. I should have taken pics of all the funny ways people are sending them back! LOL

The best is when people write little stuff. My Aunt who speaks broken english wrote 'Thank You Love' with the funniest little smiley face, it was so unexpected since she's usually very stern and 'Biotchy' lmaoooo!

don't worry...i know how you would be annoyed, but honestly it is no reflection on you...think about if you were to have received that invite...would you have ever thought anything negative about it...no..you'd probably be like, weird, i can't write on this! Nothing more! Don't worry!!!

LOL that's true. Thank you. That actually is probably more realistic than me imaging people rummaging thru their house looking for a pen and cursing me out HAHAHAH!!

While I dont think its a reflection on you, I feel like you should complain- you paid a lot of money for invites & they should know that people cant write on the response card- I would complain- maybe they will give you a parial refund- never hurts to try

see that is why I don't understand WHY they don't tell people this. I always told brides who tried to order metallic stocks YOU CAN NOT write on them or even coated stocks unless its a marker. I am sorry!!!

Oh boy! Yeah, i'll be a little upset too but i am sure people will figure out how to include their names on the card.

Are all Metallic cards like this? I will now have to contact my vendor to make sure this wouldn't happen to me either.

lol.. oh man thats' crazy! All the things we have to watch out for.. things hit us from left & right.

Anyway like someone else said, whats done is done. But u should definitely raise a complaint to the invitation company.

Aww, I'm sorry to hear that. Don't worry though, people will manage. I'm sure most people have some type of felt tip pen that should write on it. I understand you being annoyed though.
