Vent! Anyone Else Gets Annoyed When

Some already married (or divorced) that already know you are planning a wedding & have a reception hall & everything proceed to say that it is stupid to have a wedding, to not spend the money & just not to bother. That is a waste. HELLO!!! I already am planning a wedding, what am I supposed to do cancel the invites just because it is your opinion that wedding suck. Or how about I just do not invite you since it is such you consider it such a waste. UGHH it just irks me to no end. Now I can appreciate advice as much as anyone, but when this advice is an unsolicited advice that end purpose just seems like a way to make me feel bad about money already spent. I am not even trying to be extravagant with the wedding anyway.

Sorry I had to get this out. Does anyone else get this from people? Does it get on anyone else nerves after a while?

but i also realized that everyone who says it is miserable and in an unhappy marriage - go figure!!!

omg I totally know what your talking about, I hear it from soo many people at my work.. alot of them got married at the court house, and they like to always tell me that I'm just wasting my money.. I just kind of laugh at them and say 'ohh I didn't realize its a waste to celebrate your married life with the love of your life' .. they shut up real quick, when you talk sarcastically back

I also know ppl who never had a wedding, just went to city hall or something and YEARS after say they wish they had a wedding and got to put a wedding dress on and do all of that.

Next time say OMG you are right, im gonna call and cancel everything tomorrow thank you, and see what they say

i agree though.. it is annoying.. it's like ok..well that's your opinion..share it with someone who isn't getting married and planning a wedding right now..

I should say that. I thought I was going to go crazy. MY friggin GYN even goes onto tell me that weddings are a waste. Just have it in the basement of a church. AAGHHHHH

I agree you can have a small wedding or a big one, neither is bad. It is a personal choice & if I do why not help me instead of make me feel bad.

Plus is THAT what you want to hear during an examine. YUCK

Personally, I would prefer NO SPEAKING during the exam-it is weird enough-do we really need to talk about anything, whether it be baseball, work, the fact that we have a long lost friend in common? Get in, get out, and don't prolong it with meaningless conversation!!!

Exactly...F them. I mean...you wouldn't tell a pregnant woman that having kids is a bad idea. It's the same thing. It's funny though, my last day of work before the wedding I told everyone that the next time I would see them was at the church. I told her I would see her after the HM.

along these same lines...my sister, who has been married for ten years, is always telling me that i shouldnt have wanted a diamond ring, i should have just gotten a CZ because 'no one can tell the difference anyway' and if she were to do it over she would just get a CZ and that it's SOOOO SILLY to get a diamond, etc.

im like...HELLOOOOO im sure you didnt think it was so silly 10 years ago when your husband GAVE you the diamond ring.

Just b/c someones husband is a lying cheating man, doesnt mean that yours will end up that way.

I personally agree with not spending a fortune on a wedding b/c fh and i have other priorites. We are having a very nice wedding and spending a ot more than we thought we would, but not what some ppl pay for wedding.

But I would NEVER tell someone NOT to have a big wedding if its what they wanted and were the ones paying. To each is own...if u want to go out and spend $500K on a wedding- go for it as long Is I'm not footing the bill...lol

definitely do that. what craziness for her to say that! very rude. oh, so it's okay for you to do that but for anyone else it's a waste? or, was she trying to spare you the additional expense? people are so thoughtless sometinmes.....
