Vent! Anyone Else Gets Annoyed When

Some already married (or divorced) that already know you are planning a wedding & have a reception hall & everything proceed to say that it is stupid to have a wedding, to not spend the money & just not to bother. That is a waste. HELLO!!! I already am planning a wedding, what am I supposed to do cancel the invites just because it is your opinion that wedding suck. Or how about I just do not invite you since it is such you consider it such a waste. UGHH it just irks me to no end. Now I can appreciate advice as much as anyone, but when this advice is an unsolicited advice that end purpose just seems like a way to make me feel bad about money already spent. I am not even trying to be extravagant with the wedding anyway.

Sorry I had to get this out. Does anyone else get this from people? Does it get on anyone else nerves after a while?

oh i tell my mom things are less than they are!, i don't like to lie to her at all, but i spare her the mind twirling (even though shes not paying she acts like its coming right out of her bank acct, lol) and i spare me the headache about being insane and what not

Always but I've weeded alot of the nay sayers out and just dont bring it up at all in front of them so I dont have to hear it and the rest I just yes to death and then go vent on LIW or to DH

I think its terribley rude!!! I mean people are entitled to their opinions but they should be giving them out unless you asked for it!

I also find it annoying that everyone who recently had a wedding thinks its their job to tell you everything they know about planning a wedding - ilke your an idiot and have no idea. Not to mention this is my second wedding so i already know what its ilke and have been through it - i just want to tell them to shut up. Im planning the wedding of my dreams - not theirs

omg i hate that

FH's whole family swears they had a 'football' wedding with sandwiches and a radio set up

but i saw pictures of their weddings - and yes, weddings were different back then but it was at a hall and they had bridesmaids and they had nice things. . .

now its my turn!!!

ant n tilde: Nooo. don't you know that things cost only like 4 cents a plate back then & the actually made their own utensils and plates from scratch because they were so much better at saving money then. HAHAHAHA

Hey it is all relative, you would think they would notice how much cars & houses were then & how they not that price anymore. DUHHH

I hate it when people do that! What's worse it when you politely tell them to shove it, they start giving you advice on your wedding. Where to have it, what to do, and what not to do...it makes me crazy!

you have no idea how much this bothers me...especially b/c it's my GRANDMOTHER who says it to me!!

you'd think she would be all excited that her ONLY GRANDAUGHTER is getting married. but she says all the time 'you should have just eloped and saved yourself and everyone else the trouble'

THIS HAPPENS TO ME AT WORK ALL THE TIME!! there are soooooooooo many divorced people at my job and whenever my wedding plans get mentioned someone always has to say 'oh im so glad that part of my life is over and done with.....' or
'i'll never do it again.....' or 'i'd elope...screw it'...or...and this is the worst one....it drives me INSANE....
