Vent! Anyone Else Gets Annoyed When

Some already married (or divorced) that already know you are planning a wedding & have a reception hall & everything proceed to say that it is stupid to have a wedding, to not spend the money & just not to bother. That is a waste. HELLO!!! I already am planning a wedding, what am I supposed to do cancel the invites just because it is your opinion that wedding suck. Or how about I just do not invite you since it is such you consider it such a waste. UGHH it just irks me to no end. Now I can appreciate advice as much as anyone, but when this advice is an unsolicited advice that end purpose just seems like a way to make me feel bad about money already spent. I am not even trying to be extravagant with the wedding anyway.

Sorry I had to get this out. Does anyone else get this from people? Does it get on anyone else nerves after a while?

OMG, I get this all the time.
One of my co-worker who never been married, keeps telling me that I should go to city hall and forget about having a wedding and put the money towards a house. I had to tell her That I'm not begging for money and she doesn't know how much i'm spending on my stuff and to not worry about me, I'll still get a house.
mind you, she has two kids and no house. She didn't think to save toward a house instead of having kids.

Even one of my BM said the same thing to me. she even said so many people spends so much money on weddings and they never lasts. I had to tell her if she worries about wasting her money, she doesn't have to be in the bridal party.

I think I'm going to follow someone's idea of cutting out people who doesn't think wedding is a good idea from my list.

I get it, and mostly from my single girlfriends who are so jealous they that take it out on me.... biznitches!

This is by far, the worst! My single g/fs and my g/fs who want to be engaged take it out on me too

yes!!!! it bothers me too! especially bc they already had their beautiful wedding and now its my turn. yes in a perfect world we ALL would have enough money to spend on a wedding a buy a house. but unfortunatley, not all of can.

ooo i hate that..this happens to me constantly...honestly they had a wedding based on personal preference..what is so wrong with me wanting the same..that drives me insane!

I think the type of wedding a person has big or small is pretty much preference, I wouldn't take it to heart. Some people like having a huge gala where other people like smaller things. One of my friends who had a small wedding had other married people go up to her fh after they got married and say how she'd regret not walking down the church etc. and what a mistake it was for them to have that type of wedding and she'll be so sorry one day. I would say that is equally obnoxious. I say to each is their own!

weddings seem to bring out the worst in some people. Why can't they just be happy for us instead of feeling sorry for themselves and displacing the anger towards us bride?!

along these same lines...my sister, who has been married for ten years, is always telling me that i shouldnt have wanted a diamond ring, i should have just gotten a CZ because 'no one can tell the difference anyway' and if she were to do it over she would just get a CZ and that it's SOOOO SILLY to get a diamond, etc.

im like...HELLOOOOO im sure you didnt think it was so silly 10 years ago when your husband GAVE you the diamond ring.
