i really feel your pain. i don't know what to say. there are people that are truly happy for you but then there are people who are jealous. unfortunately that even applys to family members.

the only thing that matters is YOU & your FH. I am tired of bending over backwards forr people too. i get NOTHING in return. i asked my sister for one small favor (wedding related) twice. she totally ignored me. i'm not surprised

Feel better sweetie!!!!!! I think we are all in the same boat. Everyone else thinks it is their wedding and we should bend over backwards for them!! So far, I have had rude bridesmaids, fights with family members, and fights with future family members. None of which were my fault I might add. People will give you their two cents whether you want it or not. Put your foot down (tactfully of course). That is what I did. I am sticking to my guns and refuse to let other people ruin my special day. Good luck to you!

i am open minded and listen to all suggestions

my reasons for being upset are stemming from 2 supposed very close friends that have declined my wedding invitation and their reasons are ABSURD

i know people will always say no
but these are 2 people i NEVER thought would
i am very hurt, really feeling very sad
i cried my whole drive home from my mom's today

Oh, believe me, I have been there. I have one girl I asked to be a BM a year ago that said yes and called me just 3 weeks before she had to buy her dress to drop out. She just got married the other week and did not even invite me to her wedding!

The other girls had stupid excuses as well. They keep saying they do not have money to be in it, but I asked them a year ago and they should have been saving their money. Also, they had money for other people's weddings!!! My wedding is VERY CHEAP compared to many other weddings. I am being very accommodating with them. I think their priorities are out of line and they just do not care about ME, which made me cry a few times. Who knows if they will even show up to my wedding? Oh well, less money my FH and I have to fork over to the hall.

What were their reasons? Hope it works out, but if not, do not feel bad. It is truly all about you and your FH. Don't let anybody ruin it for you.

One girl got married 2 years ago, i posted about this before
i was in her wedding, MADE her centerpieces , had her shower at my apartment
my whole family went to the wedding (mom and dad, sister and BIL, aunt and uncle, cousin and wife) they bought ALL of their china

she is 6 months pregnant, lives in Rockland and her husband, who is also a friend is going away that weekend!! they had a save the date for a year!!! He booked a 'boys' trip that he does every year Jan. 31 - Feb 3. then she tells me money is SO tight and blah blah blah - Then WHY Is your husband going away????


the other friend is supposedly going somewhere with her sister - some trip for work for being the top seller of the year
i mean, she cant bring a friend??

i REALLY dont think that i am being inconsiderate or unreasonable

How RUDE of them!!!!!!! Yeah, I planned and payed for most of my one friend's bachelorette party, which was AWESOME, might I add!! Of course, she is not able to participate in my wedding party! Go figure!!!

The funny thing is I really thought my friends cared about me and were quality people who would be honored to participate in my special day. Yeah right!! Guess I was wrong about them.

And yeah, I cried really hard one weekend when I realized I only had two bridesmaids out of the original seven that said they would do it a year ago. Then I calmed down and told myself that it does not matter if only two people show up. As long as my FH is there, that is what really matters and I am committed to having fun even if only 25 guests show up out of the 137 that were invited.

Also, think of it this way. It saves you money if they do not come. I know it really is hard though and it makes you question your worth as a person and their value as a friend. I mean what are we supposed to think when they have money and time for other people's weddings and events, but not ours??? Makes me feel like I am not good enough for them or something.
