We were suppossed to mail the invites in March, RSVP April 12th (THIS WEEKEND)
We mailed all invites out and had 5 physical invitations left. I used up a couple of them b/c I forgot a relative here and there. So I'm on the phone with him this morning, and I tell him we have 2 invitations left, what do you want to do with them. It's April 8th, you still have a couple of addresses you never gave me. He says, ONLY 2? What happenned to 5? I need them. I say W T F you only had 6 months to give me your addresses, I used them b/c I needed them, not my fault you are so late. He has the NERVE to get mad at me for using them. I freakin slave every night doing something wedding related, if he would get off his ASS and do something, maybe, just maybe he would have a CLUE as to what the hell is going on !!!!!
He has a lot of nerve to get an attitude with me, he is lucky I don't call this whole shindig OFF !!!!!

Liz just relax and talk to him tonight. Karina is right just go to hallmark and make up some cheesy ones on the computer. I can also give you back my invite if you like..lol. (great idea Karina ) Everything will calm down by tonight and he probably will forget who he wants to invite at the end..wishful thinking I guess or got send him to hallmark.

Liz, take it easy, that is how they all get. They drag their feet and then at the last minute want you to act as if it is some kind of emergency. Lack of planning and participation by our men always causes frustration. You remember what happened with me?? I had to go out and buy invites. You might have to do that, but don't get so worked up. I feel you and I know what you are going thru, I feel as if I had this same argument with Roger. Girl you are not the first and you will not be the last. So sorry Liz, they just don't get it, do they? They take everything so lightly and don't seem to realize that we want this day, and everything about it, to be special. To them it's just another 'party.' They don't have as much invested in it emotionally.
My FH has been very good, but there are still some differences in the way we approach things. For instance, on the rehearsal dinner invites, they were going to put ......'dinner for you and your guest.' I said, what about the married couples? You can't refer to someone's spouse as a guest! It's rude. He thought I was worrying too much about offending people. I know I wouldn't want to be referred to as 'guest' after we're married....
I don't think it's as important to them to make it elegant or meaningful. Most men don't notice those things EVER. We can go to a wedding and notice all the details, down to the color of the napkins. They are lucky to remember if there WERE napkins at all!

Thanks Ladies i have calmed down a bit since this morning, but then again, I haven't spoken to him again since I know -- if he insists, and it's his own fault anyway - I will send him to Hallmark. I can't hold his hand and do all the work I have to. I know we've been thru a lot lately, but I have been too. I'm so darn tired

staples has a really great invite kit - response cards, vellum, etc. My FH's dad works there and got me one b/c he knows that I love stationery.
They're not on the website, but its made by Gartner and the SKU is 3468061047 or 634680610473 - I can't read the receipt...

Liz-sorry to hear FH is frustrating you over invites.
Glad you posted- as I can totally relate to a clueless man trying to plan a wedding!!!

OMG Liz I had the same argument w/fh this past weekend...I am sending the invites out in six months but I wanted the addresses of relatives and four relatives had to get crossed off the list...it took a month of yelling to get the names crossed off the list and I am still waiting for the other addresses...his parents are giving him the addresses this weekend. My dad heard me being ticked and my dad said you know what its not about the addresses its about the effort in getting them!
