Ok, so I have a massive problem with people on LIW who don't share vendor information.
I'm not talking about prices, because I understand that money is a sensitive topic. I understand not wanting to share the costs of things (although I always do...), but I can totally get that.
But telling someone the VENDOR you're using or the name of a person is ridiculous. And I'm not even talking about over the public board...I'm talking about through FM where NO ONE ELSE will see it!
Isn't this board geared towards helping EACH OTHER to plan the wedding of our dreams?!
Is it because people are afriad you're copying them?! I mean, you're never even going to SEE that person's wedding so why should it matter?!?! That is just so absurd.

just wanted to crash and tell you- you 08 girls are WONDERFUL!!!! And without you guys I probably wouldn't know too much about planning a wedding!!
I don't have anything booked yet (wedding is May of 2009) but FH and I will be checking out halls this May and now I know which halls to check out cause of looks, food, pricing etc.

And I think sharing is caring you definitely help others alot and I dont understand why people really care so much to not share their vendors...I mean other people have used their vendors before they have- did they copy them as well then?? haha its stupid

I don't have mine on there either. But I talk about all the ones I have booked with so far. And I'll share with anyone!! I don't see why people won't share. This is a site to help plan weddings right??

Actually, I just remembered I read a post awhile ago where a girl had spoken negatively about a vendor she used for her wedding but never mentioned the name. One of the girls on here FM'd her and asked her the name of the vendor and then that same girl went to the vendor and told her that there is a girl on here bad mouthing them and even gave them her name! The vendor contacted this girl who had used them and were not happy with her.

I know! I felt so bad for the girl. When I read that she was responding to another thread where a girl was bad mouthing a vendor she used and didn't want to share the name unless you FM'd her. This girl had warned her about what happened to her. Seriously one bad banana will ruin it for the bunch

It's horrible that a few pathetic people have to ruin it for everyone! I still share my vendors though... I feel like this website has been such a help to me, and I definatley want to help everyone else out! We're all planning the most important day of our lives here!

So true... Most of the vendors I booked were referred from girls on here!! Id post up everyday...Girls help me find a dj or photo or flowers, and I went with everything you guys told me. I dont know what I would have done! Youve all cured my sleepless nights, my worries, my nightmares that everyone would be booked and Id be stuck with jim bobs garage band and cousin Todd with his 1987 poloroid camera....
Stop being so selfish and pony up!! I mean, if youre not going to share and help out...then what the hell are you doin on here?

I personally do not have my information on here because there are certain people in my life that want to know every single detail of my wedding planning and I don't think it's any of their business. It's nothing against anyone on these boards...and there are a few girls who have FMed me and I have told them the names of vendors I have used. Sorry if I am offending anyone!!

That's really sad...I ask for help daily on here and everyone I've ever asked I gotta say has been more than willing to help. I would never even think someone would call to cancel someone else's vendor...that's just SICK

I agree that the purpose of this site is to share and part of sharing and helping...is helping each other not get ripped off by these vendors. I am new to this site and people already have emailed their vendors and prices. I love it!!!!

For instance, why not just put the RH you booked under RH?? Why put 'somewhere perfect', if it wasn't 'perfect' I'm sure it wouldn't have been booked??

i have only booked RH and photo/video....i dont even know if i added them to my profile b/c i am just lazy! but, ask and i shall tell! i prefer to give details on pricing over FM out of curtousy to some of the vendors. i know some of them lurk on here. and by the way, you do have to cancel in person bc the contract needs to be voided. as far as i know anyway.
