Ok, so I have a massive problem with people on LIW who don't share vendor information.
I'm not talking about prices, because I understand that money is a sensitive topic. I understand not wanting to share the costs of things (although I always do...), but I can totally get that.
But telling someone the VENDOR you're using or the name of a person is ridiculous. And I'm not even talking about over the public board...I'm talking about through FM where NO ONE ELSE will see it!
Isn't this board geared towards helping EACH OTHER to plan the wedding of our dreams?!
Is it because people are afriad you're copying them?! I mean, you're never even going to SEE that person's wedding so why should it matter?!?! That is just so absurd.

I agree with the 'hiding info bit' after the fact - but hey I'm always willing to share info whenever anyone wants it! I've actually been lazy and aside from not being around that much, haven't really updated my stuff!!! That is my goal this weekend - homework and updating LIW!! :)

i had all my vendors up until i read a post about people calling and changing the terms of your contracts and stuff like that..... Im more than happy to share pricing and whatever vendors im using via fm but reading how other people have had problems i prefer not to post it for everyone to see... nothing to do with me not wanting people to copy me... more like i dont need any extra problems.

like i understand your point exactly. I think its pretty stupid to keep it secret. like obviously they are a vendor that this person used and chances are that vendor has serviced someone else. why not help ur fellow LIWer. i think its stupid. i dont mind discussing price and all of that.
like there are certain ideas i dont share bc i dont want people to bash it when i luv it. but stuff that can be considered neutral...i dont mind tellin people.
but vendors are different. and shes just stubborn to not give u the info.

I always help people out when they need. I see no need to hide who I am using. If they want to use the vendor I am it just make me more confident I chose the right one. I can't believe how some people can be but that is girls for ya. They want to be the only ones with certain things. They don't want anyone copying them.

I agree. When I see someone using the same vendors as me... it makes me feel like I made the right decision. Especially when I have walked out of a few of these places thinking I made a terrible mistake by booking them (not because they weren't spectacular... but maybe I should have done more research, what if I chose something I don't want...)
