VENT---WENT FOR HAIR AND MAKE UP TRIAL

i went to Elena who is a vendor on here- i went to her because a friend of mine used her for her hair and make up came which came out nice- when i spoke to elena on the phone she said that it was 40.00 for a hair and makeup trial- so fine i booked the appointment for today- so i go and get my hair and makeup done and lets just say i cried when i left- which im glad that i did so i could see how the make- up would last- she did the airbrushing which i thought i liked until i saw it come off when i wiped my tears- my eyes well thats a whole other story they looked messy and the colors were uneven and i looked like someone gave me two black eyes- (i did ask for the drastic look but not messy and all under my eyes)
now im sitting in the chair and her doorbell rings well its her next appointment and now all of a sudden im rushed-she tells me to pay her for today i asked her how much and she told me 80.00 i said oh i thought it was 40.00 she said no its 40.00 for hair and 40.00 for makeup (that she did not say on the phone) she said she felt bad and said she would do something for me the day of the wedding- I WOULDNT USE HER IF SHE WAS THE LAST PERSON ON EARTH- needless to say i came home washed my face and took my hair out- i wont even get into the hair because it wasnt even what i showed her a pic of- she gave me barrell curls and the pic i showed her didnt even have barrell curls-

anyway lesson learned always ask a breakdown for all pricing- now i need some good recommendations for hair and makeup-

Wow--I'm sorry you had such a bad experience with Elena......she has been nothing but wonderful with me --I actually booked her the other day. However, I also had a trial with Sarah Rock and she also does amazing work.....you can see the results of both my trials on my earlier post. Sarah has a great personality and really did a great job with my hair. I would suggest trying her also.

Oh - I'm sorry your makeup and hair trial didn't work out. Regarding your airbrushed makeup - that should not have wiped off! She didn't put it on right. I had airbrushing done and it lasted for over 12 hours. The only thing that took it off was soap and water. I used Marie Katz for my makeup- try her, she is excellent. She is a vendor on here.

I am using Marie as well and had my trial with the airbrushing. It lasted ALL day and I loved it. I would definately have a trial with her. Sorry that you werent happy with your trial.

im sorry it didnt work out for you you know sometimes these vendors work for most people, and sometimes they dont. i've had three makeup trials and have yet to be happy with any of them.

Sorry that happened to you - Two good recommendations are:

Denise from Angel Eyes for make up and Tarale for hair....

Sorry to hear about your bad hair and make up trial experinece. I had a really bad trial and was so down as well. However, the bad trial really helped me discover which look i really wanted for the wedding. I found an AWESOME makeup artist at SAKS.
