vent - why does everyone only ask how my planning is going?

At work, with friends, it doesn't matter -- people seem really hung up on talking about how my wedding planning is going. I am asked by the same people almost daily! My answer is always the same 'I am pretty much done' but it is soooo annoying!

I agree that its nice to see that somebody cares but at the same time it does seem annoying

I just went to a wedding and the Bride herself, on her special day kept asking how my planning was going --so I said 'this is your special day, lets not talk about my wedding planning now'

I felt bad

Same here. I've been telling everyone for months that I am done, but I still get the question. It's really because the want to make small talk, and that ring on your finger starts a great conversation . . . even if you've had it before!!

I think it's an easy go to question for people when they don't know what to say. It's like when you're in college and people ALWAYS ask you 'So how's school going?' When you just saw them the weekend before.

Yeah, I think it's one of those things that people just say bc they think they're supposed to. My sister has 2 kids (3 and 1) and everytime someone sees her, it's 'how are the babies'. It's just what people say. Like when people say 'how are you?' they more expect 'good, you?' then if you go into a long story about what's been going on.

Yeah, that would make me feel soooooooooooo bad too. But you know you secretly liked it
