Vent...because I may have a nervous breakdown if i dont get it out...

Problem with a parent who suffers from oh no not my child syndrom.

I felt like i was on an episode of desperate housewives with lynette! And where does it come that theparent takes a step back and says 'Why WOULD THE TEACHER LIE'

I even said to them I completely understand your concern but let me explain what actually happened before you jump to conclusions.

UGHHHHH

I want to scream.
And the whole bank thing still isnt cleared up..

oh god i get that allll the time at my job. Parents seriously have a syndrome b/c there child 'would never do anything like that' Like with hitting, biting..its like I SAW YOUR CHILD DO IT! Why in the world would we lie. I tell the parents b/c they need to know if their child is showing behavior like that so a plan can be instituted to fix it.

Sorry you are going through this. I got a taste of something similar. I worked in Jericho School District and worked in the after school program. It was really good money 6 years ago but those kids- OMG- they were the worst breed of kids I have ever seen. Spoiled to $hit. Their Parent's were all a$$holes. I couldn't discipline some kids because their Parents had that 'Oh NO, not my child' thing going for them. Enough was enough at one point and I left that job. It was only once a week and 20 bucks an hour but it wasn't worth the aggrevation. It makes me wonder how these kids will turn out. My Parents didn't let me get away with $hit and I am thankful for it. I don't understand how these people can teach their kids to be this way. Here's a HUG!

Thats horrible! I dont understand parents today!! They belive anything that comes out of their little darlings mouths! Hope your day gets better. Whats going on with the bank situation?

sorry to hear that. some parents just don't believe their kids do anything wrong. hope things get straightened out at work & with the bank.

I think you just need to take solace in the fact that you know you're doing your job properly and this child and her parents are CRAZY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

oh ok lol just be carefull because other teachers could be on here and see that post, you never know, I know how it is , my sister is a teacher and doesn't have any public posting for that reason

unfortunately in the teaching field were gonna come across these crazies at some time or another. As long as you know that they are nuts and you are doing everything youre supposed to do then that should help put you at ease.

Some parents are really out there, sorry you have to deal with such BS!! Thank God the school year is almost over!

Aww I'm sorry that happened to you! Some parents don't understand that their children are human and that they do wrong as well as any other person! I think that if you are telling the parents something that basically they don't want to hear they take the defense because then it's something that THEY did wrong in raising the child. I also find that with only children(NO OFFENSE) parents are more likely to defend and say 'not my little darling'. I hope you feel better!!

Ohhh that is horrible... parents can be the WORST!

I work at a school with handicapped adults and some of the stories these parents come up with are unreal.

BUT then i have some wonderful parents, who are so easy to work with and are just BEAUTIFUL parents.

It makes you wonder what makes you become 'that' parent....
