venting - i'm depressed...

venting - i'm depressed...

I wasn't going to vent since I've never really let loose on the board (well, not in about a year anyway), but I guess I just need cheering up...

THose of you who've been posting since around my wedding - December 2001, might remember that my husband's father passed away a few months after the wedding (we had pushed it up when he was diagnosed w/ cancer). So obviously it was not such a joyous first year of marriage. TO make matters worse, he lost his business, and after consulting for a while, that gig fell through, and he's been unemployed ever since (about a year now). He's been sooooo depressed all year - we've been completely anti-social for financial and personal reasons (since his dad died).

Anyway, a couple months ago it seemed like the end of this might be near - he had a possible in at a company in VA and a very successful interview. He was so excited - like a new man. VERY long story short, they've been stringing him along since then (in the meantime I've interviewed in VA assuming we'd be moving) and even got a job offer already. Well, as of today, it seems as if the deal in VA is off - they need to hire internally.

He's devestated again - this took so much out of him. Between his depression and our lack of $$, i can't take it!! We want to have a family and get out of NYC, and really can't do it financially. I just wish for once something would go right for us.

sorry to lay this on you guys.... but thanks for listening. always helps to vent

Oh NO! I'm so sorry- the times are so tough out there. I can totally understand how your situation can be tough on you and DH.

Hang in there- things will get better- it's these horrible times that make the great times great.

I am so sorry that you've been going through all this. I do believe that your DH will find a better job and then everything else good will follow. In the meantime try to remain strong for each other.

Sara, ,feel free ot vent....

If you guys are willing to relocate, he can mroe than likely land a job anywhere...just keep plugging at it and stand by your husband, things will turn up in the end...I beleive they have o get worse before they can get better, and maybe you are at the worst now, and things will begin turning up...Good luck!

If your job offer is good, why don't you guys move and try there? May be the new setting will do good to both of you! I know how you fell. DH just lost his job in January, and only since last week he is working again for the same company but in temporary terms.

Good luck!
