Vent...Will anyone respond yes?

Vent...Will anyone respond yes?

I am starting to get so upset! I have read so many posts in the past that said 'Will anyone say no!' I wish I were one of those people! It isn't my side of the family (at least not yet) that are saying no it is my FH's side. And we haven't even gotten 1 no because of Memorial Day travel. Like some people don't want to travel from Boston or PA. Ok fine. (My FH's parents have lived in so many states so he has a lot of OOTers).

But get this....Yesterday we get a no from his AUNT! . It is his mothers sister and best friend. They are very close. Better yet they wrote the reason why they can't attend. They are both teachers at a private school and they have graduation for there kids on Memorial day weekend! Seriously! You are going to miss your nephews wedding, which only happens once in a lifetime (hopefully) so that you can watch other kids graduate which you take part in every year! UH. Not to mention FH's brother got married on memorial day weekend and they were there. I am so upset. My FH is a little upset too but I think he is trying to hide it because he knows it will really set me off.

We have about 12 no's (for a total of 24 people) on his side and 2 on mine! I want yeses!

I am going to start sending them back to the people saying 'Sorry, but we don't accept your no. We look forward to seeing you on May 29th!'

RSVP time is very stressful and some of the people who say no are surprising. I'm sorry you have to go through this

Honestly, i have heard of issues on holiday weekends. But I had no's also, there is a Confermation on my wedding day.

I think they might have to be there for the graduation, I could be wrong.

I am so sorry. We seriously over invited to make it to 100!

I'm so sorry you are going through this. Do you have a B list? Do you think you won't meet the guarantee? You do have some time to maybe add on coworkers that you may not have included to keep numbers down?

Or are you disappointed that they are giving lame reasons for not attending? I think I'd be upset at the lame excuses too after so much time, effort and money have gone into planning the day.

I am pretty positive we will meet the minimum and don't have a B list. We just invited everyone up front. It is that I am just so upset that people that are 'so important' to my FH and his side of the family aren't going to be there. I guess I feel like it is a very big day for everyone and we want those that are close (especially his AUNT!) with us and they don't see it that way and it hurts. I haven't even sent his mother the nos yet. I know she will have to be a bit upset but will never ever show it. She is so kind and generous that she will just say oh well. I know I would go BALISTIC if my Uncle said he couldn't come for a work reason.

I am so sorry.
I am sure you will get plenty of yeses.

Usually people who know that they can't come send the responses back right away, the people who can come tend to wait.

I hope it works out.

I know how you feel!

I wanted no's so badly, but we got a no yesterday from fi's uncle who lives in the same house as the parents and grandparents. We invited 3 and only 1 is coming, their 20 year old kid...and they didn't even write the name on the RSVP, I looked it up because I numbered them (thankfully). I was so sad that they weren't coming...but like fi said, their loss! Those who will be there will have a blast!
Try to cheer up, your wedding will be fabulous no matter what.

I feel your pain. Everyone on FH's side, except for his immediate family (like his parents, and siblings) have all said NO! His family will basically take up just ONE table at our reception. It's sad. But there's little you can do about it.

I try not to get upset about it, so that I don't make FH any more upset about it then he already is.

Wow - that really s**ks! I agree that the reasoning is lame. I know that all the no's I receive, I will take personally!

Regardless - your wedding will be great!!

I'm sure tons of people will say yes. It's upsetting that people you thought would absolutely attend are saying no though.

I know everything will be beautiful and you all will be having too much fun to even miss them.

Same here. I'll take a 'no' over a no response any day.

It'll get better!
