Venue Ideas

Hello Ladies,

I'm going to start my venue search after the holidays, but I really need some suggestions. FI and I are not really into the traditional catering hall. We would like something with a unique twist. We live in BK but our families live out on the island so I'm searching both areas!

As for BK, I want to check out:
My Moon Restaurant
Liberty Warehouse
Botanical Gardens
ReBar

As for LI, I want to check out:
Bourne Mansion - I love the idea of an old creepy mansion!
Old Field Club

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!!

Maybe the Mansion at Timber Point? They are very reasonably priced and the food is delish - my sister got married there last year.

If you like the Old Field Club, take a look at The Riviera in Massapequa & Three Village Inn in Stony Brook.

I recently worked a wedding at Liberty Warehouse. The place was awesome. Def had a different feel to it and the view was beautiful. I didnt have any food so I couldnt comment on that, but the staff and management was very friendly.

Be careful with OFC. Theyre prices are OUTRAGEOUS for what they offer. FH and I graciously walked out.

I live in Brooklyn too! If your're not looking into the typical catering hall check these places out ..
Maritime Parc- It's in Jersey city but it's really nice. There's this place called Above in SI and it looks gorgeous- I've never been to a wedding there though. In Brooklyn right by where I live there's Baku Palace. I would say its similar to My Moon which is also great.

THIS! The main room is beautiful but I felt the cocktail room was tiny. When the girl told us the prices FH & I burst out laughing and asked if she was serious. It was by far the MOST expensive venue we looked at. And probably gave a third of what we are getting at Thatched Cottage.

Ditto. Im LITERALLY paying HALF of what OFC quoted me for 3x more stuff including tax and gratuity. Your paying for the area over there. Its a beautiful surrounding but the place itself leaves alot to be desired.

old field club is horrible!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! they are crazy over priced, don't negotiate, their rugs are dirty- don't even waste your time. i literally would have rather been at the gym for an hour running (which i hate but do anyway) than be there- it was so ridiculous it wasnt even funny

check flowerfield! their prices are quite high, however, if you would consider a winter month (which is in your favor as all vendors will significantly discount) and you pay literally less than half price!

DEF check out the bourne!! it is gorgeous.. not sure if you saw my post, but they are having a showcause on Jan 26th which would be a great time to check it out

I went to a wedding at the bourne in September. It was great!! I loved the feel of the mansion, it suited the couple perfectly. It was so nice to walk all over the grounds and first floor.

You could take a look at Floral Terrace. It used to be a movie theater, so it has that feel to it. Beautiful architecture and ornate ceiling. Good luck in your search!
