So i've started looking at halls . So far I've see Chateau La Mer, Riviera, Harbor Links, Swan Club and Westbury Manor.
I noticed they say 'it's a min of 'X' and its '$' per person. Later I ask what's the price AFTER i hit my minimum/guarantee and it's the same price per person....?
Has anyone recieved a lower price if they went over their minimum/guarantee? I'm struggling to find ways to neg the price. Any advise based on experience?

Re: Venue prices/minimums
sorry-my experience has been; even after your minimum is met; you pay the same price for each addtl guest. only discount you'll get will be on your vendors and kids.
Some girls have been able to negotiate a lower per person price; by uping their guarantee...maybe try that. GL

The price pp only comes down before you sign a contract. So make your list but dont guarantee too high or you may have trouble making that min

You are only going to get lower per person inf you guarantee more than they ask for.

Re: Venue prices/minimums
My RH minimum was really low, so we were able to negotiate a lower price by increasing the minimum. It wasn't much of a difference. Now that i just did the math, it really doesn't make too much of a difference, buttt, so much of this wedding stuff is crazy expensive, negotiate where you can!! (which is everywhere).
Also, if you can't get the price down, maybe they can throw something in that would normally be extra, but for the same price.

I went to 2 rh's and they game me a lower price if I guaranteed more people. but make sure you calculate it because sometimes it turns out to be more money depending on how much more people your guaranteeing even though you're paying less per plate

It's not aout hitting your minimum after the fac, it's all about negotiations BEFORE contract.
You can often get a lower pp price with a higher minimum, you just need to ask.

This is DEF worth trying...and if you find it's something you can't do...try negotating for other things, like having a chocolate fountain or viennese table for free. Sometimes, these things really add up and if you can get them thrown in for free...go for it!
