Venue Search

We just began our search for Wedding Venues and would love to hear other venues that we might be missing on our list.

So far we have looked at:
Crescent Beach Club
North Ritz Club
Bridgeview Yacht Club
The Inn at New Hyde Park

We are looking for a place that has a summery/bright feeling to it. I have felt like some of the photos from certain places have a dark wood which makes it feel cold/winter like to me. We are also looking to stay in Nassau County, as my fiance's family is from Connecticut and we don't want them to travel too far. We will have about 200 guests.

Thoughts? Ideas?

Hi,
FH and I only looked at two places before immediately falling in love with one and booking. People seem to LOVE Lands End, we weren't too impressed but to each his own right? It does have the older wood inside, I liked the look of the reception room, but we didn't get that overwhelming feeling that that was our place!
Good Luck Venue Hunting!!!

The Inn! But I'm partial! They have a wonderful space! Most of it is wood-but white high painted walls/ceilings. The cocktail room is huge and has an outdoor Tuscan feel. The good thing is if you are getting married in the summer youcan use their outdoor space as well. I loved it! Good luck in your search!

The Carltun. It is very white and bright and within Eisenhower Park so you'll def get a green summery feel to it.

Oceanblue is supposed to be beautiful! Also the Montauk Surf club. They aren't in Nassau but family from CT can always take the ferry to Long Island.

We went to Land's End & Crescent Beach CLub yesterday. Loved Lands End, Hated Crescent Beach Club. Now I dont want to confuse you becuase the reason I knocked Crescent off the list is because I made an appt last wednesday for yesterday & I arrived and was told no one was there. They put the general Manager on the phone, he was a total jerk, talked to me for 5 minutes and I was given a half ***-ed tour by a young girl who didn't really know much. She couldn't even find the lights. If you cant remember to write down my appointment, there is no way I am going to trust you with my money & my wedding. PLUS they were WAYY overpriced for what they offer.

Re: Venue Search

I agree that CBC was overpriced for what they had to offer- the price was clearly for the 'view'. I didn't like that the bar was outside of the reception room- why would anyone stay inside dancing if the drinks were out in the hallway? I have heard great things about Lands End as well, but feel it is too far out east for us. Don't want to make my in-laws take the ferry, it's kind of a pain. Good Luck on your search :)
