VERY ANGRY- I gave this store the benefit of the doubt!!

ARRRGGGGGH! I can't tell you how ANGRY I am.
I'm in one of my best friends wedding this summer and we ordered our dresses from a certain bridal store in PATCHOGUE (hint, hint.)
My friend told me she went to a store and found her dream BM dresses- down the block from her, but never told me the name.

Well when I found out what the name of the store was- I have heard NOTHING but nightmares about this place from the girls on this site. But I decided to keep my mouth shut-this place can't be THAT bad. And I didn't want to upset my friend.

Well- we ordered the gowns, and they came in ALL WRONG! They came in a solid pink- when they are supposed to be pink & cream.
AND- the store 'isn't sure yet if we have to pay to have them changed.' They can't be serious! This is also mis-quoting my friend for the cost of the dress originally!! They told her 'Oops sorry we gave you the wrong price, the dress is now more' She fought with them to get the original price that they quoted.

I can't friggin' believe it! Everything I have read about this place is ALL TRUE.
I mean how hard is it to NOT screw up an order???
It has happened WAY too many times in this store.

I know EXACTLY what store you are talking about!!! That store should just close down all together. They cause nothing but nightmares for brides and their bridal party!

When I went there, to get a price quote for my bridesmaid dresses, the woman ignored me at first, then says they dont' have it. Then she says, we have it in the back, hold on let me get it. I waited a half hour when she never returned and I asked another person that worked there, where that other woman went and she said, she left for the day. So she then tells me that they don't carry that brand!

UGH!!! HATE THAT STORE!

wow! that's TERRIBLE!!!!!! they are liable becuase it was THEIR mistake! I would seek legal advice, it doesn't hurt (and I would tell them that as well)

I would also file a complaint with the BBB.

This store already has THREE hits against it with the BBB, so it wouldn't hurt to have a 4th.
She's looking into filing.
But she still needs to hear back from the owner on the 'paying to get it fixed' issue, since this issue MAY get resolved.

I'm assuming you're talking about Paradise, just come out and say it. I think their bridal dept is different from their BM dresses. And the former is fine but the latter is where there are problems. I ordered my gown from them and now I'm that everything's ok. I'm so scared!!! But based on what I've heard on this site, despite the fine service I've received I'll go elsewhere for my BMs. So sorry to hear about your friend, hope everything turns out ok. She shouldn't have to pay anything, in fact they should give her a discount for this added aggravation.

I have to say again, that there are good and bad reviews for many vendors. Each experience is different, and for all the negative comments that are posted, I am sure that there are many more POSITIVE - if it was really so terrible, the store WOULD be out of business. Someone said on a different post that the people who have problems want to vent all their issues, while those who have had nothing but good experiences sit back and are very happy.. I just wanted to say this to put some at ease.. I am sure there are many on this site who have placed orders with this store and are now panicking..

Were the dresses paid in full? Is there any way you can get a refund and order somewhere else?
Im so sorry you have to go through this and its one more headache the bride has to deal with

Like I said... I gave this store the benefit of the doubt and gave them a chance to prove what I've heard wrong... unfortunately they failed. Miserably.

See that proves my point! I am sure ANY store will have their share of bad reviews.

ANd I am sorry you had a bad experience with your BM dresses. I had my own when I bought a BM dress at another store that often had bad reviews. It fit so horribly and after alterations, and when I told them my concerns (the top of the dress did not fit right) they told me to use double sided tape! After spending $60 on alterations!!!!!

We used a place in Patchouge for my sisters wedding and it wasn't Paradise and we had nothing but problems.

Well, my Patchogue store has been nothing but problems since I gave them a deposit. I was promised that I'd have it by the end of the month and I'm on the phone with them now... the shipping dept. is closed, there are no managers on duty and there are no acting managers on duty!!!!!

I'm so pissed off again.

I did not buy my wedding dress in Paradise but the other one.. Didn't have any trouble at all, but was asked to take my dress home because they 'sold' their warehouse for storing the dresses and they have no room.. Hmm I'm soo glad it's out of there after hearing your stories.. now I just have to find a good seamstress

BBB is the Better Business Bureau. It's an organization that includes stores that meet certain good criteria. If someone's registered with them then their work is legit, but if not then you can be leery as to their reputation. You can visit the BBB and request info on certain vendors so you know if there have been any problems.
