Unfortunately I have to work today, so I decided to fill out my Place cards for the reception while I'm sitting here.
I have 2 questions though...
For single Woman, is it Miss. Or Ms.
AND
I have 1 guest who is divorced, but still has her x-husbands last name-How do I address her place card? Mrs. Or Ms. Or Miss. Or what??
any feedback would be appreciated.
thanks Jess

Re: very simple ettiquette questions
I would use Ms. on both place cards. In my opinion you don't offend anyone that way.

Sorry you have to work today
I think if you use 'Ms.' for both that will not offend either one of them.

Re: very simple ettiquette questions
I used Miss for single women who have not yet been married.
I used Ms. for divorced women who went back to their maiden name.
I used Mrs. for women who still kept their ex-husband's last name. But, I wrote Mrs. Mary Jones (not Mrs. John Jones). I also did it this way for widows.

Hi Date Twin!
I wouldn't use Miss, unless it is a little kid. Miss aggrivates me when it is used on me. I want to scream, I'm 30 years old.
Go for Ms.
Glad to see you are doing your placecards. I want to do mine, but wondered if it was too early...

Re: very simple ettiquette questions
For the single women, if she is under 25 I would use Miss, over 25, Ms.
Divorced woman, definitly Ms.

Re: very simple ettiquette questions
'Miss' is used to address young/little girls. 'Ms' would be appropriate for unmarried women 'Mrs.' for married/divorced women who kept their married names.
