I went to Russo's for a showcase tonight. The Dj showcase was good. I am very upset b/c I had asked a manager about having a signature drink at our cocktail hour she told us in order to have a speciality drink we had to purchase a package 'Package of Elegance' which included other things. That would cost us another $10 more a person. That is crazy I just wanted a signature drink passed around at my CH. What do you girls think??? I feel very annoyed.

Re: Very upest
That's disappointing.
Can you trade something you already have for the passed around signature drink?
What about asking a different manager?

I agree... that does not really make sense...

Re: Very upest
that's a ridiculous price for one type of drink to be passed around......I would contact someone else. A fair price would be $2-$3/pp--assuming everybody is going to have at least one. (gotta make sure their markup is in there)......

Re: Very upest
The woman who is supposed to be a manager told me the reason why I cant get a drink (martini) alone at CH is b/c its part of some stupid package, which is $10 per person. I asked her bluntly if I could somehow get this alone and she said, 'No it has to be purchased as the package'

Re: Very upest
I'm not surprised. When I booked Russo's for a wedding years ago ( was previously engaged back in '97) they weren't open to adding anything that didn't include a huge price tag.
BTW Who was the DJ? Classie Sounds?

Yes Classie Sounds. They seemed very Sweet sixteen. The dancers outfits really turned me off.

Re: Very upest
I hated the outfits too, but I booked with them because they got rave reviews from family members who attended weddings where they were the DJs. And I just loved Steve! He was so sweet and Isabella is a doll!

Re: Very upest
I have no heard anything about htem....I must say ...one thing I did like is they were saying 'we have all this stuff, do you need to get it....NO...we will work with you to make the best package' I know many companies say that...but they were so down to earth....
Just the way they said it was really nice
Those dancers could move though...I hope your not upset wtih my opinion...

Re: Very upest
Not at all! I hated the costumes of the dancers, but agree they danced well. What I wanted was the video screens. I loved that they come to the wedding ceremony and film the vows, then show it to our guests before we walk in. Plus they take about 400 pictures during the night and then before we leave everything that was on the screens is burned onto a CD for us to take home. Also, when I met with Steve, we had so much in common. We just clicked! It just felt right going with them.

I really liked the music they played. They did seem open to being flexible with what you want. They for sure will get the crowd going. I didnt mean to offend anyone either.

I'm totally not offended! When I called Classie Sounds, Isabella the receptionist told me that Steve wants his customers to be honest with him. So when I met him, I told him straight out--'Steve I don't want the dancers! And can you please get them better costumes! He said to me, I can see we're going to have a lot of fun planning your wedding! We laughed and laughed!

Re: Very upest
What's the deal w/ the 'signature' drink ? If someone wants a martini, they can go the bar and order it...The bartender isn't going to tell them, 'sorry we don't serve vodka or gin here !!' ......so why do they feel they can charge you an extra $10pp for martinis ??? Or whatever the drink may be ??

I think thats ridiculous. $10 extra per person - thats obscene. Your probably spending a ton of money there and they can't do this one request?

Re: Very upest
As someone suggested, I would request to speak with Frank Russo.
I have heard of that package. It's something really new that they have now.

Re: Very upest
I was told of the same package when I booked. Did you speak to Carol, she seems nice. I'm not sure if they will add it in somehow because they do have that new package for signature drinks. If you get anywhere let me know, I will follow in your footsteps. Are you getting the new linen package?
