I went to Russo's for a showcase tonight. The Dj showcase was good. I am very upset b/c I had asked a manager about having a signature drink at our cocktail hour she told us in order to have a speciality drink we had to purchase a package 'Package of Elegance' which included other things. That would cost us another $10 more a person. That is crazy I just wanted a signature drink passed around at my CH. What do you girls think??? I feel very annoyed.

I'm sorry!!! Like someone else suggested maybe you can trade something for your drink. It sucks , but nothing in planning your wedding is free.

See some people may think the signature drink idea is crazy, but my FH and I both love martini's and we would like our own drink passed or at our CH. Something that reflects what we like. But I had no idea I would have to purchase a package that included other things for $10 more a person. Thats insane. I think I should try to speak w/ Frank Russo. How would I go about explaining this without getting upset or loosing my cool?

Wow, I am really sorry for that. We did not have to pay extra or give anything up to have flavored amrtini's & hot toddy's passed during our CH instead of champagne. I would have done it though, I think, but not for $10 per person. Not everyone goes to the CH, I don't think that is a fair way to calculate it. jmho

I agree....even if they use Vox vodka (which to my knowledge is the most costly vodka used) it would still be about $8 per martini in a manhattan bar
That is a completely unfair price....what else comes with that 'Package'???

Did you see that elderly woman dancing? She was such a doll. It was hysterical when they did the conga line. Ohhhhh, you wanna laugh my friend told me she saw someone take the centerpiece off the table and bring it w/ them...lol...too funny. I had a great time though. Where were you ladies?

hi,i think the $10 is for the 'elements of style' include chair covers,three napking changes,customized menu, personalize cake plating etc.PLUS they 'll ask you (bride and groom)TEN questions and base on your answers they'll create a special drink for the night .that drink they 'll pass it around AND also have it on your menu. On the menu they'll say that ....try a specialty drink created exclusively for your wedding.

No, news yet. I really want to speak w/ Frank Russo, but I feel a bit nervous to. I did speak w/ my banquet manager yesterday. My FH refuses to help me w/ this issue at all and will not talk to Frank Russo. So I feel alone in this particular issue. For now the martini tree seems to be ok. But I still think it is ludacris to have to buy a whole package for $10 more a person, just b/c they refuse to do the signature drink by itself. I really don't understand why they can't put martini's out on a table for my CH or even have one at each place setting.

That's fine...but you can't really blame my friend for what SHE SAW. All she mentioned was that there was someone taking a centerpiece off a table and kept looking around confused. Maybe it wasn't even you. IMO, I thought it would of been somewhat rude to just take a centerpiece off the table w/o at least being told to do so or asking. But, since you were told, then O.K..

I think they are completely insane to charge $10 pp for a martini .......Esp a martini they'll probably make w/ rack vodka !!! I'm not one to argue or try to bargain, but on THIS one I think you're 150% right !

Thanks for all the support . ' 2 banquet managers told me the only way to get the 'speciality drink' is to purchase the package, crazy right? I am seriously thinking about making a appintment to speak w/ Mr. Russo himself.

I can join in your frustrations! I am really mad at my hall too.!. Because of them I have to start my CH at 8:00 and the wedding will be till 2:00 AM. NO one stays till 2:00am! My whole wedding is a waiste of money!
