So weird we were just talkin about this with the officiant last night... gurls are def ruthless... have you found out who the b*tch is yet?!?! i'd rip her a new one

but look for the silver lining... that means that vendor wasnt meant to be.... and you'll find one 1000x better than the other one

Honestly, that's why I didn't share info about vendors I planned on booking until I had already booked them. Unfortunately you can't really trust people to not want to grab a good thing for themselves if given the opportunity.

I had LOTS of date twins out there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just to play devils advocate here...

it's possible that the mystery bride had seen a showcase and/or met with the band before you but was waiting to book for whatever reason (saving up cash, etc) and then saw your post and freaked out that the band they wanted might not be available and then rushed too book before it was too late. it's not necessarily 'jealousy' like the poster before said.

I saw another post about a bride really wanting to book Thatched Cottage for a particular date but her FH wanting to wait. If a new bride visited TC today and said she really loved it and was thinking about booking on the same date.... should bride 1 rush to book it? Did bride 2 'call dibs'

I dont really think there is an answer to these questions. To be safe though, I wouldn't mention plans to book a specific vendor for a specific date until after you have done so because it might tip off others who want that vendor/date as well.

Edit: if you were talking to the band about your date, I think it would have been nice for them to give you a courtesy call. When I contacted a makeup artist she told me she might be busy on my date -- nothing booked yet but she was in talks with another bride and would have to contact her and get back to me. I thought this was a great and fair way to do with things.

When my parents heard our band at a showcase they had them hold our date (no deposit) for 3 days, and we ended up booking in the 3 days. It might be worth checking to see if other vendors will temporarily hold the date. Some might

I totally understand that and I really dont blame this person I blame MYSELF...
The vender said when she called that the bride said she found out about them through LIweddings which made the vender log on to check and she was like you were actually the one who posted the comment because i recognized your name bc its almost the same as you email. so the way she made it seem and the way I took it was that they didnt know about the band before reading about my post and they just so happened to meet with them and book them first...sooo, oh well!

3: I want everyone to understand that I dont blame this person at all ... I blame MYSELF!! I guess its just natural for me to want to help other people and I posted info about the band which backfired on me its ***** but its ok!
I guess I ( and everyone) just has to be careful...its ***** because all we want is to talk and help eachother but the few have to ruin it for the many make you double check what you want to post and not!

4: It woul dhave been totally 100% professional and curtious of this vender to let me know someone was coming in for my date but they didnt and I cant blame them either...we never had an OFFICAL appointment with them so I understand that they didnt hold the date...I wish I would have just asked them to hold it untill we got to meet with them but I didnt expect this to happen. so its a little different circumstance then what you girls have been talking about but it still would have been nice if they did call me since they knew I was coming to see them fri (tomo)...WHATEVER~ haha everything happens for a reason...and I really loved the post about the cake falling on her or her tripping haha that would be the day!

It was stages... originally we were goignto go with a DJ bc we though a band was out of our budget but stages was under 5000 and sounded great at the showcase so we were so excited. My dad even loved them so much he was like i will pay the difference if you like them.... I think that most of the other bands out there that are good are going to be 6000+ from what I hear...and I didnt want to spend that much..oh well... if anyone can think of one let me know, ill be looking...oh and I promise I wont steal your day
