VERY, VERY IMPORTANT QUESTION!!!! PLEASE ANSWER THIS OR I WILL CONTINUE TO STRESS OUT!!!!!

Do you think gold bamboo chairs will clash with a black iron high centerpiece stand?? The stand also comes in gold (and that would match the chairs perfectly), but I much prefer the black iron. I looked into doing chair covers so the color of the chairs wouldn't be an issue but have found out that they don't make chair covers for that type of chair because they are considered too nice to cover!!

I am especially anxious to hear from my fellow NRC brides past and present.

a picture would help.......... dont stress... whatever you pick would be fine, plus on the day of the wedding you will be SOOOO excited that your married that you probably wouldnt even notice

i am a NRC future bride. i think it will look okay. can you possibly take a stand to the NRC to see how it looks? that might be extreme, but at least you will have peace of mind!

I think it will look fine : ). Once everyone is seated they will only see the centerpeice anyway and not focus on the chairs. Don't stress

I don't have any pics. I have plenty of time to decide, but I don't like not having decisions made! The stands are wrought iron with arms that come up around the floral centerpiece and hold candles. The tones of the room are mostly ivory with a hint of blue and the chairs are gold.

What does the iron stand look like? What exactly will be seen on it? Will flowers cover most of it?

Obviously the black iron has a much more 'rustic' and/or casual feel about it, but depending on the arrangement and what the actual centerpiece holder looks like, it may not even be noticeable.

I think that it will look more than fine. I think that they are two different elements of your set up, so I wouldn't worry one bit

Interesting point Jenny, I never thought of asking if they have other chairs! I will look into that.
I like the black iron better because it really stands out especially against all ivory flowers which is what I think I want. I don't really know how to explain the stands, maybe John from Flower Michele can e-mail me a pic of it and then I will post it.

i know NRC had other chairs before the ones they use currently. maybe they still have them?? i would definietly ask!
also - to be totally honest, i cant really picture the black stands, so i cant say if i think it would look good or not. try to get a pic!

Katherine, John must have a pic of them, even if it has an arrangement on it. He'll get the pic for you. Definitely ask NRC about the chairs! Their answer may get rid of all your stress!!!

Honestly, I don't love the black flower stands, I think the gold is WAY more formal. However, if you really really love the black stands, I say they'll match the chairs just fine, and if they're a little off, you'll be the only one who notices, don't sweat it.

Just an idea.........Maybe you can ask your florist to wrap an Ivy Vine with a few of the flowers that you are using on the top of the centerpeice inter-twined with the vine, to soften the look from the talbe to the center piece. Sort of create a flowing feeling...

I think it will be fine, BUT I ended up switching my stand to match the chairs. (I originally had a silver stand). I didn't want gold, but it looked great - I had ivory flowers too (and am a Flower Michele bride).

Sorry to throw another consideration into the mix but you can rent different chairs. Also, i think at some places you can get the chair covers and the chairs that they go over...
I know at my reception hall, the first time that I went to look at the ballroom there were different chairs and the banquet manager said 'those aren't the usual chairs in this room but, they are here because the bride wanted chair covers' Anyway, hope this helps

I used the gold stands because I felt that they looked better in the room at the NRC. I was originally going to use silver. Black would like nice too, because it is neutral and would go with everything.

I am A NRC bride too and Honestly I would go with the gold but that's because I like everything to match and plus my colors are champagne and gold (so I guess I would favor the gold anyway). I do think the black would go nice too because it is a neutral color and everything goes with black! I don't think you could lose either way. Good Luck!
