I still can't decide if I want to do it or not. FH really wants to have video, but it's really hard to fit it into our budget, without the video looking like a 2 year old filmed it.
Anyone have any good recommendations for really low priced, but good videographers? We're not looking for the whole thing to be filmed...Ceremony, some of reception and that's it. Very simple, but we want moments to be captured.

I had this same problem too! Video costs a lot more than I thought. Luckily, my aunt got married in July and her videographer is her husband's cousin. He agreed to do my video for an awesome price and he's a professional!! Ask around with friends and family. You may be surprised what you come up with.

Re: Video
I didn't really want video but FH insisted that we have it. After hearing countless stories on here about how most brides regret not having a videographer, I caved. We went with Couped Up and I am so excited about it! Rob was so nice and showed us dvds of his work. He does an excellent job AND his prices were great! You should check him out!!!

Re: Video
Check out Duet they might have a cheap video package. Or ask your DJ. Alot of DJ companies have video options also and if you have a package with them they'll give you a discount

Couped up has really good prices! They have a good number of cheaper options. Check him out, tell him what you want and what your budget is and see if he will work with you. His work is really good!

Re: Video
Hey Ladies, I'm new to the site (just signed up a few mins ago) and was wondering if any fellow brides can recommend anyone for videography? My FH and I spoke to a guy today @ DSM video who's most basic package starts at $5,000, which we feel is wayyy too much for video, especially for a basic package, which according to the owner would be 'not very artistic'...so, we're wondering if anyone knows of a talented videographer who is reasonably priced? We've decided that we'd much rather splurge on the photographer, not the videographer...Thanks :)

Re: Video
have you tried craigslist or google a small mom and pop shop which can be way cheaper than a big business

Hi :) We haven't checked that yet...that's an interesting idea though. I was just kinda hoping to get some feedback from companies that maybe some brides have used or even some companies to definitely steer clear from. Even knocking out some names would narrow down the list, u know? Thank you !

Hey Bebita :) Thanks for that recommenation! I've seen several posts about that place, so I'll def check them out. We'd definitely love to have a beautiful video commemorating our special day, but the prices I was quoted from the videographer I spoke to today were just outrageous! I don't have many GF's who've gotten married recently, but my GF from high school was married last year and says that it isn't worth it to spend a ton of money on video...which we totally agree with. If Couped Up is reasonably priced, they may be a contender :) Thanks a lot!

No prob. girly. Glad I was able to help. Their videos are very similar to the ones that Penny Lane produce but the price are much more affordable.
I noticed u're a new 2011 bride, here's an idea for u, whenever u have a question, u can always create a new threat, this way more brides are gonna see it and most likely reply

Thanks so much!! That's a great idea :) We're getting married one day apart!! Ahhhhh soooo exciting!! Joining this site has made it 'sink in' a lot more, which is so wonderful! I'm a full time doctoral student (studying to become a Psychologist) so being in that mindset all the time kinda makes it tough to 'appreciate' my engagement and my upcoming wedding, so this is great for me! And I love talking to other brides, its really nice :)

Re: Video
I'm in a Clinical Psychology doctoral program right now, and even though I hate the school (it's an hour and a half drive from our house) I am determined to stick it out and get my degree! It's really really tough sometimes, especially when all I wanna do is plan every detail of my wedding (especially since we live in FL but are getting married in NY, (we're both originally from Brooklyn). Ultimately, my goal is private practice. I really wanna work with what I like to refer to as the 'worried well' lol, basically your average joe's/jane's that just wanna sit down and talk with a therapist about run of the mill issues. Kinda like Dr. Melfi on Soprano's haha

For some reason I thought u were gonna say child psychologist. I might have to request ur services if I continue letting the wedding stress build up lol! Btw, FH is also from Brooklyn...fuhgeddaboudit!!!!
That's awesome that your FH is a fellow Brooklynite & I love that sign! It's SO Bklyn hahahah! How far along are u in the planning process? We're getting married 1 day apart, so this would give me a really great frame of reference We kinda just got the ball rolling a few weeks ago when we booked our venue...we're heading up there in 10 days to meet with some florists and check out some photographers. I'm really excited but super nervous because I feel really really behind. I've only been on the site a few hours and I've already seen 2012 brides that have their florists and videographers booked! 10 months seems like a long time, but everyone keeps taking about how the time flies!
