That's awesome that your FH is a fellow Brooklynite & I love that sign! It's SO Bklyn hahahah! How far along are u in the planning process? We're getting married 1 day apart, so this would give me a really great frame of reference We kinda just got the ball rolling a few weeks ago when we booked our venue...we're heading up there in 10 days to meet with some florists and check out some photographers. I'm really excited but super nervous because I feel really really behind. I've only been on the site a few hours and I've already seen 2012 brides that have their florists and videographers booked! 10 months seems like a long time, but everyone keeps taking about how the time flies!
I'm def taking the planning process step by step...or at least I'm trying lol! It's awesome we're having our weddings 1 day apart I heard that getting married on a Thurday is getting very popular and trendy, my friend had her wedding on a Thur. as well and it was amazing!!!! Time def goes quickly, u still have time to get all ur vendors booked but def start doing serious research.
For florist: Look into B-u-r-t-o-n-s (without the lines, 'cause for some reason LIW doesn't let us type the name?!?) and Designs by Rose...I've been doing some research and I've found out that they have very competitive prices
For right now this is what I've booked:
-Music / Venue / Photographer / Church
I'm working on:
-Invites, the next thing will be flowers
FH and I are paying for our wedding by ourselves so we really can't afford to have everything ready right away but it's ok, I like it this way

That's terrific! U guys seem to really been on track and I applaud u for that! We just started looking at a few vendors for photography...************** did our engagement (my FH surprised me and proposed to me @ Oheka Castle javascript:FEmote(''); !) shoot, and they were good, though I don't know that I would say they blew me away to the extent where I'd feel 100% confident in hiring them for our wedding. Who did u book for photography? I haven't really narrowed down our '1st cut' list, but my high school friend (I wasn't at the wedding) used a photog named Alex Z and says she loved her and was very happy with how the albums turned out. I've also heard good things about Camelot Studios. Also, do u have any idea of what you're going to go with as far as favors for the guests? I'm trying really hard to not spend more than a few $'s on that. I feel like everyone tosses them anyway and 9 outta 10 times they're usually pretty silly little trinkets of some sort. My high school friend gave out candles (though her's were really expensive & I'm looking to keep it under $5 per favor) and my MOH just got back from a wedding where the favors were wine stoppers, which I think is actually pretty nice...but it's always great to hear other brides' opinions

Couped up has really good prices! They have a good number of cheaper options. Check him out, tell him what you want and what your budget is and see if he will work with you. His work is really good!

I luv the way ur FH proposed, at Oheka Castle? SWEET! I heard that's the #1 venue to get married in LI. It makes it even more special that u're also getting married there, how special is that !
I booked Michael from North Island Photography (this is their website: www.niphotoinc.com) I LUVVV their work, check out their website, u'll see that his work is amazing, plus he has very competitive prices.
For vendors, FH and I decided to make donations to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Cancer Society since my mom passed away of cancer. We also want to do a photobooth for our guests, they'll take a pic , 2 will print out, 1 for them to take and the other one for us to keep in an album.
Keep me inform on how everything is going with ur vendors girly
