OK ladies, FH and I have been bickering about this forever, so he has agreed to get opinions from the 'girls on the board' Do any of you plan to buy a video camera to take on your HM? We are going to Hawaii which I consider a once in a lifetime trip that I want to capture on vido. He says its a waste of money, and that we will never use it again after the HM. Is it a waste to buy a camera to bring with us??? Or is my FH just cheap?

Re: Video camera for HM?
we put the sony minidv on our registry! But if no one busy it we will purchase it for the HM.... I would like that memory as well. BTW... you will always find use for a video recorder!
...like whenyou get pets or kids, whichever you like

Re: Video camera for HM?
We decided to borrow my parent's camera instead of buying our own. We think we'll tape the drive from the airport, getting to Sandals, the first time we walk into the room, etc. If you decide to buy your own, I don't think it would be a waste of money because think of all the other events in your lives that you may want to remember. Of course, you maybe you could borrow one like we are. Good luck!

Re: Video camera for HM?
I went to hawaii with my FH and his family and his mom brought a video camera and it was a great idea! You will get your entire vacation in motion. Plus, Hawaii is SO beautiful so you want still pictures and video.

I would say get it. We went to Tahiti and we did not have a videocamera and wished that we had 'cuz the sights were so beautiful and certain memories are best caught on video rather than still life. It seemed like everyone else had them.

I don't think its a waste. We bought a video camera for a regular old vacation a few years back & use it every chance we get now. We're def. taking ours on the HM!

We are going to Hawaii too and plan on either buying one or borrowing my parents. Depends if after the wedding we have time to get one before we leave for the HM. I want to capture as much as we can while we are there since who knows when we will return.

I got one for my e-party. I love it!! You definetly need one. I use it a lot for family parties, trips, and whatever else that comes along. It is definetly not a waste of money maybe you can compromise offer to make a special video with me (of course after your married)! Only kidding!!

ah, so thats the secret, entice him with home made movies
I am so glad to hear that you all are taking a video camera on your HM also. I am going to work on FH this weekend, and drag him to Circut City. Maybe we can zero percent it, hell thats how we have bought everything else for this wedding

Re: Video camera for HM?
I want to get one!!! Its a great investment anyway, cuz i know I'll need one for when we have kids! Maybe we'll register too, and if we don't get it we'll buy! (or buy one for Christmas instead of exchanging gifts)

Re: Video camera for HM?
My mom and Stepdad just gave us a Sony Digital 8 for my Bridal shower this past Saturday and we are definatly bringing with us on HM. Sometimes regular pics don't do the island justice. Also you can use it to tape your RD and then later for when you have kids you will need one!

Re: Video camera for HM?
I got a little video camera from my grandmother at my shower. She bought it purposely so that we have it for the HM. Which means, I am obligated! LOL!
My friend brought her video camera on her HM and she took some footage. Not sure how much you can actually get though, ya know?
OCT1203 makes a good point. A video camera captures anything a regular photo won't. And plus you may want it for other things like the RD (didn't think of that )
