Re: Videographer??
When we switched out photographer to Duet we got one. Photo and video with them was the same price as just photo with my first photographer.

Re: Videographer??
I'm not having one. there were a few reasons I decided not to.
1. I’m not thrilled about being the center of attention in the 1st place. It will be enough to deal with the day itself being centered around me. 2. my sister told me she watched her video twice. And on the 2nd time she lost interest. 3. we’re on a tight budget and I figured this was something I could skip. 4. like you said, I didn’t want to be followed all night by a photographer and a videographer. One is enough.
This is all of course…JMO.

Re: Videographer??
I personally think video is crucial and as important, if not more, than the pictures. I can't wait to see myself dancing with my DH for the first time, our first kiss at the church, the cake cutting, etc. I do plan on watching the DVD more than a few times, as DH and I LOVE watching our old movies.
That said, if money's tight, consider asking someone in your family to record some parts...at the very least the ceremony. Think about your children's excitement as they see Mommy and Daddy taking their vows.
This too is JMHO.

Re: Videographer??
I had one, though I really wasn't sure if I wanted one, but then I heard a few stories, where the children of the people who got married, absolutely loved seeing the video of their parents wedding, so that sucked me in
And I'm really glad. Because, beside photos, what else do you have? And what if some photos are missed, etc.
My main concern was that I didn't want to be the center of attention and have a camera in my face, but ya know what.....I did NOT even notice them. They blended in so well and were so NOT IN YOUR FACE, that I'm so happy now that I did it.
Honestly, if I hadn't fallen down when DH tried to dip me and the camera guy asked us if we wanted that in the video, I would never have known they were there.
They were great and I can't wait to see the finished video.

I am in favor of the video. There were just things you will always want to capture. At first, I wasn't sure I wanted it, but I'm glad we did.

Re: Videographer??
having cameras follow you gets old quick... from taping the show for serveral days, i forgot they were there ( i knew they were but paid no attention to them)
i had 4 camera ppl at the wedding and 2 photographers...they were not in the way and i saw some early footage..they captured everythign perfectly...
You and your groom will be caught up in the moment that you will forget anybody else is there and just enjoy each other. half the time, they were shooting from a distance or covering other things (while danceing atleast)
to an above post.. pictures can only tell part of the story. video tells even more of a story. your mind is the last part of it. having all three parts will allow your dream wedding come true again.
to an above post, your sister may of lost intrest for serveral reasons.. the way it was shot, produced or other reasons... so are so many differents styles and ways of doing it.
i would go for it if you can afford it.. some say they regreat not getting it. well, if you get it and dont like it, at least you have it but if you never got it, you can never watch it
