Videographer - yay or nay?
Are you hiring a videographer for your wedding? We're torn about the idea since we think it would be a great way to save some memories from the day but I know that we'd watch it once than maybe never again. Also, the really good videographers are expensive and that could be put towards something else. Any ideas?

Videographer - yay or nay?
I went with a videographer. I'm sentimental and want to have as many memories as possible of the big day. I figure FH and I won't really watch it that often, but I want it more for years down the road when some people who are at our wedding might not be around anymore. I wasn't looking to break the bank on it so I didn't book one of the big name videographers. I booked the photographer and videographer through the same company and most places were willing to negotiate if you booked both services through them. Also, if you're able to pay in cash that sometimes bumps the price down a bit.

we aren't having one. I personally don't want a video camera on me all night lol. plus I'd say almost everyone I know who had video watch it once and never again. I rather spend my money on other things. but that's just me.

I plan on hiring a photographer and videographer from the same company. I do want to have the video memories that photos don't always capture. And it's one of the few things aside from pictures that you'll always always ALWAYS have from that day.

I am definitely getting one, preferably a cinematic type. I am soo corny and sentimental I will be one of those annoying women who always watch it and try to get everyone else to watch it haha. I'm crazy like that and since my dad has passed away I've become so obsessed with preserving memories. But that is just my thought, it all depends on your budget and how you feel about it. I told my fiance I will drive myself to the wedding if it meant saving money to get the videographer I want haha

Hahahaha you're too funny! Yeah not sure what to do, haven't met with photographers yet so I guess I'll see how much it would run and that can influence my decision. Oh well, thanks for your opinions!

You definitely don't want to miss out on getting video for your wedding. I mean there are certain things you won't be able to capture just from pictures. I love the new cinematic style nowadays, not like the old wedding videos that used to be around. My colleague went to wedding in May and they had this video they showed during the main course called a Same day Edit. She absolutely loved it and thinks I should look at them for my wedding video, and supposedly they give you edited movie in a normal time frame for a reasonable price(Ive heard some nightmares). I checked out their online samples and they were very nice. Starlight Studioz , anyone else heard of them?

I would never think about adding a videographer because for the money I just didn't need that much. I'm more of a picture person anyway BUT I work with someone who is studying film so my advice if you're unsure about splurging on a videographer would be to find a student so your price is low and you're not paying a fortune for over the top video. Also wedit.com has a cute idea for mini wedding videos that I also thought about doing :)

This is something I am so torn about. I guess my decision will be based on what quotes I get. I think my parents want me to have one more then I actually do. lol

funny months ago I commented not doing it but I ended up changing my mind luckily way before the wedding. everyone told me even if I only watch it once it's better to regret getting it then regret not getting it. so I'd go for it.plus think about future kids they might wanna see how everyone was drunken dancing fools :) at least the option is there.

Crashinggg...We booked video. Although we may not watch it over and over again, I am reminded how special it is to have a video of your wedding when my little cousins run around saying 'I want to watch the video where Mommy is a princess!' Its soooooooo sweet :)

Videographer - yay or nay?
We have decided that we wanted to book a videographer, I think we'd regret it if we didn't. I'm having huge sticker shock though, most quotes I've gotten are a minimum of $2000. Any suggestions of any cheaper companies?

I'm not having one. I am ordering Wedit- its a video camera 5 of them that your guest use. you send them back and they put together a video for you!!!! I am placing cards with the wedit cameras as to what I want captured- kind of like a scavenger hunt sort of thing!!! its about $400 way cheaper than a videographer

We are also indecisive about a video. I like the idea, but I want to save some money! I think I might just ask one of my family members to tape the ceremony on our own video camera!Welcome New Vendors
