Are you doing one? And if you don't mind sharing, how much extra did it cost?
I'm thinking about doing one, but I don't know if I'd really want to add the extra hour of OT on a Friday night.

I'm not doing one...not in the budget. I believe my hall charges $15/pp extra for it.
Actually one of my coworkers went to a wedding this weekend in Westchester and they had the Viennese hour that started at 11:30pm she said she saw most of it go to waste because guests were stuffed already...and on top of that it was so late.
I think it adds to the lavishness of the day and guests will be impressed that it's there, but they won't miss it if it's not. Most wedding's I've been to, I'm stuffed halfway through the cocktail hour!
lol i must go to weddings where were all pigs bc by the time i get up for specific desserts they're all gone lol, ive even seen them have to refill it lol
Even though i'm not doing one...I would if I had room in the budget.

Re: Viennese Hour
When I looked around, it ranged from $10 - $16 pp. At the place I booked, it is listed at $16pp, but it is definitely negotiable. I will be adding it to my contract later, and am hoping to pay around $12 pp for it.

I'm a dessert fanatic too, I'm pretty sure I'm going to do it haha.
Someone told me that sometimes the hall will do it and combine it with the reception. . .so you get the extra desserts, without the overtime. . .we'll have to see.
But I have a special place in my heart for chocolate fountains
Check with your RH-- alot of times you can still get a choco fountain without having a VH. We got one thrown in for free

Re: Viennese Hour
We'll have a Viennese Table set up.
I kinda like the idea of placing a couple of trays with pastries on each table too though...hhmmm

it has to be a HUGE table then, bec in alot of halls the VH consists of many tables filled with many pastries, etc etc etc, the coco fountain is on another table with its fixings

I'm not doing it. its $15 pp and jericho terrace already has so much food and I've heard of alot of weddings that do the viennese and alot of it goes to waste...although cannoli's and cheesecake would be nice...and some red velvet cupcakes. But when i spoke to anthony he said that if we brought in any dessert alternatives to serve that there would be no extra cake cutting fees or anything like that...bc we had discusses diabetic options and if we could bring in some diabetic friendly options.
i went to a wedding at jericho terrace in december and i must say the VHour was the best ive ever been to, people are always talking about i, along w/the cocktail hour....the food was endless at the v-hour , they had sooo much to choose from.

Re: Viennese Hour
I have heard anywhere from $7-15. You can try and talk them down a bit though
