Viennese Hour

Original post by MrsHtobe

Are you doing one? And if you don't mind sharing, how much extra did it cost?

I'm thinking about doing one, but I don't know if I'd really want to add the extra hour of OT on a Friday night.

Hmmm, 10-12 bucks is pretty reasonable I think.

My luck I'd get chocolate on my gown, but it may be worth it anyway lol

$10-12 per person

The Harbor Club charges $20 pp (I think!). I always thought I'd have one, b/c they are really so nice, but that is a lot extra to spend. We worked it out that they threw in the chocolate fountain, italian pastries and cookies for each table and they have their own special cookie/cake/ice cream concoction(sp) that each table would get also. Plus there is wedding cake. We figured that would be enough dessert for everyone!

See if you can work something else out with your hall for the desserts. I'm sure they will throw something in!

$20pp???

That's a lot! Atleast they are hooking you up with so much extra dessert!!

I'm not doing one...not in the budget. I believe my hall charges $15/pp extra for it.

Actually one of my coworkers went to a wedding this weekend in Westchester and they had the Viennese hour that started at 11:30pm she said she saw most of it go to waste because guests were stuffed already...and on top of that it was so late.

I think it adds to the lavishness of the day and guests will be impressed that it's there, but they won't miss it if it's not. Most wedding's I've been to, I'm stuffed halfway through the cocktail hour!

Re: Viennese Hour

My hall offers a Viennese half hour, which I think I might do, since my wedding is on a Sunday night it would only add a half hour of time. Plus they charge half price, I think $8.00 and they said that if people are still up there after the half hour is up they are not going to just start taking it down in front of them, so it seems like the best option.

I hear this alot about the desserts going to waste but I doubt it will most people have a sweet tooth. and Alot of my close family are asking about the Choc fountain so I think they are waiting for dessert.
Who can resist Choc and cakes and and Ice cream bar...the list goes on....

10-15pp is what I hear is the norm
