Are you doing one? And if you don't mind sharing, how much extra did it cost?
I'm thinking about doing one, but I don't know if I'd really want to add the extra hour of OT on a Friday night.

Im doing one, but i bought little boxes they could pack up some stuff in for later because people aren't always that hungry and alot of it is a waste
Thats a really great idea!!!!! between mine n fh's fam... they'd clear off the tables!!!

we're just doing a mini viennese mainly because the viennese at our hall is in the same room as the cocktail hour and i don't want to disrupt the party by having people go back and forth
thats a good idea! My friends was there and a lot of people went into the other room to sit down and eat and the MaitreD had to come in and tell everyone it was time to go back in the room. But hte Viennese was Excellent!!

Re: Viennese Hour
We're doing a mini-viennese hour, which is really only half an hour and it's not as much food. It's costing $7 extra pp.

I'm only having a partial were having 3 tier trays put on everyones table with italina pastried fruit and choclate
We are doing something like that. It is $8pp for the regular hour....so we are doing a partial for only $4pp and they are putting trays of cookies and pastries at each table and doing table side cordials and capuccino and espresso. I didn't want the cake to be ignored, but I see more people enjoying it at their table instead of getting up and getting the dessert themselves.

Re: Viennese Hour
We decided to save the cost of the Viennese Hour and do something else with the money..lol I know it sounds crazy but we're not doing it.
Instead we're doing plated desserts on the tables.

I am doing it. It is a must for a big fat Italian wedding!!!!!!!!!
i second that! mine VH was thrown into my contract for no extra pay, but only because im guaranteeing a certain amount of people. talk to the people at the hall and see if you can work something out with them.

Re: Viennese Hour
its not just the waste...it's the cost. We're already spending $115 pp and we're paying for this wedding on our own. FH is JUST about to finish his apprenticeship so in less than 6 mos we'll be beautiful as far as $$ goes...but right now...it's tight. to pay $130 pp ...plus taxes and gratuities...

musicgirl - I'm also getting married at East Wind. Just wondering how many over your minimum you guaranteed to get your VH thrown in. Thanks so much!

Re: Viennese Hour
we're not doing it. My family's not big on sweets. We usually do black rum cake as a tradition and that's all they likely will be looking forward to.

Re: Viennese Hour
Our VH is included in the price at JT but considering how much desert your are getting, I think it's worth it. I just checked my JT book and it is $15 extra per guest. But you do get a lot.

Re: Viennese Hour
I'm not having one. My caterer has the cakes and pastries for $8 a person and another $8 per person for the cordials. We will have cookies and pastries on the tables besides the wedding cake, so we really don't need it.

Re: Viennese Hour
Im not doing one. I work a Garden city hotel. Ive been to alot of weddings and once people have cocktail hour and dinner they really dont eat much after and the Viennese hour is a waste of food it gets all thrown away.
