Are any brides who are doing Viennese letting guests take desserts home? With our all, we can keep all the Viennese food, so I am thinking of getting some kind of boxes for guests to stck up. Anyone do anything similar?

Re: Viennese hour...
I was wondering about this too (at Sand castle)... they told you we are allowed to have our guests take them home? I just haven't gotten a chance to ask. maybe they have boxes/containers available...

I actually did this as part of the guests favors!! We got our names and wedding date printed on the 'to go' box, and they were able to pick what they wanted to take home! Everyone loved it! Just make sure your venue allows you to do so! :)

Re: Viennese hour...
My wedding was at Jericho terrace and they had no problem with us suppling take out boxes.. They even had a side table with all the boxes stacked for people to easily grab one. Our guests loved that they could take some home!! If u do vianeese definitely get the boxes, there'd is sooooo much and people are usually too stuffed to ea it all there

We are going to have the to-go boxes at our VH. We are still looking around for what one's to get, but my mom saw 100 big styrafoam boxes in BJs for $10. I may just get those instead of cute ones..

I ordered 4 x 2.5 x 2.5', but they were very small. Luckily I ordered a ton of extra ones, because guests were taking 3-4 boxes each. You couldn't fit anything more that a few cookies in each.
My reccomendation is to order 8' x 4-7/8' x 5-1/4', or around that size.

We got pastry boxes and put labels on the boxes. Everyone LOVED the idea and were like kids in a candy shop, grabbing everything and anything.

KShea23 your boxes came out amazing! Where did you order them from?
My venue (North Ritz Club) said it was fine as long as I supply the boxes. I can't see any venue having a problem with it. Good luck :)

I think we can - I have to double check with my RH. I don't see it being a problem though as long as you supply the boxes. Every reception that has had a VH has allowed guests to take food home.

Re: Viennese hour...
My hall advised that a lot of food gets thrown out at VH, deff consider buying pastry to go boxes and it can double as a favor!

Re: Viennese hour...
I was thinking of doing this also! About how many boxes do you order? 1 per guest or like favors and 1 per couple? I'm having around 300 people at the wedding, so am thinking 300 boxes on a table may look odd. Also, where did people get their pastry boxes from??
