VIP studio brides!!

I am in the process of scanning, but I have to tell you!!! You will NOT be dissappointed!! I just picked up my proofs tonight and there isn't ONE bad one...

I'll probably be up until 3 am scanning...so maybe by the time you read this the pictures will be up!!

We met with John yesterday afternoon, and we're not quite sure we love him. I agree his pics are great, but can you tell me how he was to work with all day? He seemed really disorganized and messy. We went to sse him because so many girls on this board raved about him. Also, my FH noticed things like a beer bottle and a pack of cigarettes in the background of some of the group shots. I know he can't control that in candids, but these looked like posed shots. I guess I'm just a real stickler for detail. I'm so glad your pics turned out beautifully. Could you give me some insight on how he was the day of? Thanks!

fleeflee: I also met with John at VIP and my FH and I also noticed some of the same things you did. The place was a disaster, and we noticed some misc things that didt look right in some of the pics (ie an exit sign, etc.). It made me nervous that he would be in charge of my pictures. His prices are reasonable, but be careful - I wanted my album in a 'library' style, and this stlye is not included in his base price. After adding in the charge for the library style, his prices were comparable to other photographers.

Yabbobay - What great pictures!! Your Dad looks so dapper. VIP did a great job, your pictures really tell a story of the moments at your wedding. You must be thrilled. Now the tough part comes - choosing which pictures you want!!

To the other girls worried, I too thought he was a little flaky but his prices were great and pics seem to come out great, its not like im marrying him it's just one day.

Honestly too I think he is quiet and from what he told me he likes to stay in the backround and shoot alot without you even really knowing he is there, i liked that alot better than being pulled and posed all day.

I dont know what library style is but if it is the same as library bound albums he offered those in the packages he has listed in his pamphlets which are I thought were alot better prices than other photographers

John was absolutely fabulous to work with...tara said it best that he stays in the background..the second photographer was awesome to work with (Kathy) she took the reigns in a lot of the shots...

We don't have ONE picture in almost 1000 that has anything that shouldn't be in it...

actually there is a picture of me, DH, BIL and SIL and I noticed their son peeking in on the side...and John said that he didn't tell him to get out of the picture, b/c it made a great shot...and he was right...

I can agree with you that his office is not as neat as other places are, but you should see my desk at work...and I am a teacher ...shouldn't I be neat??

Both him and Kathy have a great eye...you so won't be disappointed...BUT if in your gut you don't think you should go with him....then don't....

I was so confident in him...especially because of the photos of the Roman Coliseum and Neuschwanstein he had in his studio...

PS...there has NEVER been a negative post about VIP and I have been on this site for quite awhile now...

I didn't mean to sound negative, and I certainly don't think this thread qualifies as a negative post. I'm becoming the neurotic bride I swore I'd never be. Your pictures are beautiful - especially the toasting glasses! - Thanks for your review - we haven't ruled out John at all. The reason we went to see him in the first place was because he had such rave reviews on this board.
