vote for a stain color

we have wood beams on our ceilings and wood banisters...

the current beams need to be sanded and restained...

we are also putting in a new kitchen that is unfinished...so we have the chance to have it all match...

which do you like the best (DH has ruled out anything 'red') I think it should be on the dark side

I want something dark...it seems fitting for the wood beams...like Jacobean - but I'm not sure I would like it for my cabinets

I like the dark walnut.

What other colors are going in your kitchen? Are there a lot of cabinets?

If it's open and bright, the jocobean might be ok (ie not too dark).

ugh...I forgot...the frige and stove are both WHITE!!! is that going to make a difference?

we don't plan on being in the place for more than 3 years or so I will keep the frige and stove - since they are fairly new...

I have to decide on tiles too!!!

I dopn't like anything too dark, I think doing them ligther would look nice, but that is just me.

I thinkthe wood beams have to be dark...but I am changing my mind about the cabinets

I voted special walnut. So pretty! I want walnut cabinets in my house (whenever I get one!!)

I like a mahogany color ... which is a bit lighter ... but I voted for dark walnut.

The only stain that I liked was Jacobean.

But generally, I don't like dark kitchens (or any other rooms), so I would NOT use the Jacobean color in the kitchen. If I had to pick, I would probably choose Birch/Pine light colors.

Are you putting new up, or planing on restaining the existing stuff??

For my Staircase railing and the cap along the 1/2 wall leading upstairs, it is oak, and they are just polyurethaning it.
