Hi girls! I want to go with a much 'different' centerpiece for my wedding and would like to get your honest thoughts and opinions (no feelings hurt here.)
This centerpiece is very modern and cost effective and FH and I both love it but I am worried that it will give the room a very flat look.
Anyway it is going to be a tall cylindar vase with white cymbidian orchids over a monstera leave. (Second picture is not a monstera leaf...but will just give an idea of how the finished product will look!)

there is a florist in Boston called Winstons... they do a lot of designs like this one. I used to see it in their window (I worked across the street).

I'll admit I'm not really a fan of orchids, but in that particular color and that particular vase, they are BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!! The way they're swirled around gives the whole look a bit of movement, if that makes sense! I agree w/ a few PPs about possibly adding several votive candles around the bottom so it's not standing up in the middle of the table all by itself (unless that's the look you are going for). It's a very elegant CP!

OK so I opted not to do votives because we are having a day wedding and they are lots of windows in the room...so it will be bright already!
Also we are doing these as a rental because we want to save money and we also do not think many people will want to take them home. 80% of our guests are out of town (flying in) and wont want to take a cylinder home that is filled to the top with water!

I think its very pretty.. I would even do a trial with maybe some cut or frosted glass in the bottom rather than rocks. Maybe even glass in your color scheme. Just a thought. :)

Looks amazing. Totally something I would do. I'm not really as into flowers as the average bride might be, and I'm looking for something on the more modern side too. I will def take your idea into consideration! I personally like the river rocks, but I do think it would also look great with the different types of rock some of the girls were suggesting.

ya know, i LOVE tall CPs when you take a step back and look at the whole room. the problem is that your guests can't see the people on the other side of the table OR the flowers (when they're sitting). this CP deals w/ both of those issues, and it'll still have the same effect in the room as a standard tall CP.
