Votive Candle Place Cards

Hi Ladies,

I fell in love with the idea of doing votive candle place cards for the reception-- I ordered the vellum paper, and the candle holders, and tea lights. I found the instructions online on how to do this little project -- Does anyone have a template (word document or otherwise) to use when printing the names and tables on the vellum paper? Thanks in advance!!

I would imagine that depending on size of the votive, the template would be different. It may actually just be easier to create your own, though I would use regular paper as to not waste your vellum. That wat they fit exactly and you can make them look exactly how you want them to look. You may even be able to match them to you invitations, etc. It would just really piss me off if I started using a template only to find out it doesn't work and I wasted a bunch of time. Sorry I probably didn't help too much.

Votive Candle Place Cards

I think it's a pretty dangerous idea if the hall is going to light them before your guest take them. You really want people walking around w lighted candles and hot glass when they have been drinking? I've seen it several times at weddings and someone always gets burned from the hot glass

Place cards are different from escort cards. Place cards are already on the table.

Although I'm not sure if OP meant place cards or escort cards.

Re: Votive Candle Place Cards

I wanted to do the same idea for my wedding. It looks very nice when they are all lit but a friend of mine told me that the glass might get too hot. I researched online and found posts that said to use tealights inside to avoid the hot issue. I would create a text box and do a trial and error with reg. paper until you find the size you like.

Votive Candle Place Cards

Rosie, I am having a template made via etsy shop for your invitation. She is wonderful and will design it for you for liek $5- better to have her do it then go nuts. I bought the votives with a full candle in them. They will be lit during the end of my cocktail hour and because of the candle the glass will be cooler at the bottom. People take them and go directly to the table and the room will illuminate from them. I love the idea and think as long as they are not walking around with them for an hour long cocktail hour you will be fine! HTH!
