votive placecards question....

Can you tell me how to cut the template so that it lays flat? I know all votives have a slight curve and I cant get it to look even in the back without a gap on the bottom. Help please

Re: votive placecards question....

i found this online:

The first step was to design the template for the wrappers. To get the right shape, wrap a sheet of paper firmly around one of the votive holders. Trace along the top rim and bottom edge of the holder. When you unroll the paper, you'll have the basic shape you need. Continue the lines a little on one end to create an overlap. Cut this out and try it on. Make any needed adjustments.

then you cut it out, make sure it fits right, and then trace your finalized patter onto cardboard or a stiffer paper so you can reuse it and trace out a bunch.

the other option is buying precut ones. i know michael's sells them.

I think I got it but if anyone has one they can send me I used the thicker votives from target. I would appreicate it.

I would put the votive on the vellum and roll it while tracing each end, top then bottom, then cut it-sounds easy to me-but I doubt it is as simple as I think

I bought my votives at target 8 for $4 but they are heavy and bigger then usual votives. You can get them at the craft stores or I think the website is cudge.net.
If you do a search on here there are pics of votive placecards.
